After I Become the CEO, My Heiress Ex Proposed to Me

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

She stood frozen, watching as Victoria Windsor wrapped her arm possessively around my waist.

I offered Sophia a polite smile.

"Olivia actually ate a red apple today. She usually hates apples. How did you manage that?"

"Guess," Victoria teased, tightening her grip on me.

The murmurs of alumni behind us rose like waves.

Sophia finally snapped out of her daze, lips trembling as she asked, "Vincent... who are they? You're lying to me, right?"

Seeing her distorted expression, I couldn't help but laugh.

"Lie to you? You're not worth the effort."

"Daddy, who's Olivia?" my daughter suddenly asked, tilting her innocent face upward.

I gently pinched her cheek.

"Olivia is Daddy's little princess."

"What about Mommy?"

"Mommy is Daddy's queen," I answered with a smile.

Victoria's eyes sparkled as she leaned in to kiss my cheek.

"Husband, you're my king."

My ears burned as I pushed her away lightly.

"Behave. People are watching."

Her warm breath tickled my ear.

"Then shall we continue at home?"

Blushing furiously, I carried Olivia toward the car.

"Let's... let's get in the car!"

After three years of marriage, her sweet words still made my heart race.

Victoria followed leisurely, laughing behind me.

Sophia remained rooted to the spot, her face deathly pale.

As we were about to leave, she suddenly rushed forward.

"Vincent! Don't go!"

I turned back.

The pain in her eyes was almost palpable.

Seven years ago, I would have embraced her tenderly.

Now, I only felt irritation.

After securing Olivia in her car seat and kissing her forehead, I turned back, deliberately intertwining my fingers with Victoria's.

"Did you need something, Ms. Reynolds? Say it in front of my wife."

Sophia's lips trembled soundlessly.

Victoria played with my fingers, smirking.

"Is it something private? Sorry, but I won't let my husband face you alone."

Sophia finally exploded.

"What are you so smug about? Vincent and I shared four years together! Who do you think you are? He'll come back to me eventually!"

Though Victoria maintained her smile, I could sense her jealousy.

To avoid consequences tonight, I spoke firmly:

"Enough, Sophia! Being with you was my life's biggest regret! My wife is the love of my life. Get lost!"

Sophia staggered back, her voice feather-light.

"Vincent... am I really that worthless?"

"Yes," I stated coldly.

"Never show your face to me or my family again."

As she collapsed to the ground, I turned away without hesitation.

The moment the car door closed, Victoria clung to me like a koala.

"Husband, you were amazing just now!"

I ruffled her hair.

"Only for you."
