Qiao Mei nodded in satisfaction. It seemed that Xu Ba still had some sense and knew that he should follow Li Gui and go back with her now. Even though he had not packed his luggage or prepared anything, he could always buy whatever he needed there. If he missed out on Li Gui, she would not come back to him.

"Alright, that's it then. Mom, I'll say goodbye here," Qiao Mei said happily.

Li Gui would not be lonely on her journey. Xu Ba would keep trying to explain himself to Li Gui. The day of their reconciliation should come soon.

Xu Ba loosened his grip on the luggage and his heart wavered.

"So why are you going back this time round? To get your household register record?" Qiao Mei asked curiously.

"There's no need to go through so much trouble. You might get beaten up after you go back and might even get locked up by that family. What if they make use of you to threaten Uncle Xu for money? I can get someone to transfer your household register over to Uncle Xu's household register," Qiao Mei said.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Xu Ba said excitedly. He did not have the clout to do something like that. Qiao Mei was being very kind if she was willing to help him to this extent.
