Chapter 1279 - 683: Tender Moments (Part 2)
"Alright, alright, I know," Wu Zhengguang said, "You all don’t need to worry about me, just let me be alone for a bit, you guys carry on with your conversation."
Zhou Yun: "Alright then, Teacher Wu, would you like some champagne?"
Wu Zhengguang: "I’ll help myself."
"OK."
Everyone has their own personality.
And the career each person chooses might be related to an aspect of their personality.
Take Wu Zhengguang for example. By external standards, he’s definitely a middle-aged man, but he still has the heart of a youth, keeping a sense of passion and innocence in some ways.
It’s like there’s hardly anyone who starts by complaining about negative things, nor many who give up halfway through venting, choosing instead to be alone for a bit.
Gu Huaichun quietly came to ask Zhou Yun.
"Xiao Yun, does Teacher Wu dislike me?"
"Don’t overthink, that’s just his personality."
Gu Huaichun nodded and said, "I thought so, it’s rare that people don’t like me."
Zhou Yun looked at his confident and smug expression, feeling an urge to deflate him a little.
Since it’s rare for everyone to gather together, this evening, everybody talked a lot.
Zhou Yun enjoys being with her friends.
During these times, she feels comfortable and at ease.
She has the kind of personality that likes to make everyone feel welcome; she delights in ensuring that each friend has a good time at her gatherings.
It was almost nine in the evening when Song Chi finally arrived.
"Brother Song is here!"
"Hello, Brother Song!"
"Brother Song, have you had dinner?"
...
Everyone greeted Song Chi enthusiastically.
Song Chi replied one by one, smiling, and his gaze sought out Zhou Yun.
Zhou Yun had just gone to the kitchen to get the dumplings, and she came out carrying a bowl when she saw Song Chi had arrived, and she immediately smiled.
"You finally made it!"
Song Chi walked over, took the bowl of dumplings from Zhou Yun’s hands, and said, "There was a bit of traffic on the way, where should I put this?"
"Just place it on the table, everyone can help themselves," Zhou Yun replied.
Song Chi said, "I’m so hungry, I need to eat something first."
Zhou Yun nodded and stayed by Song Chi’s side, asking, "Did you stay up late yesterday?"
"A little bit, but I took a nap on my way back today, feeling much better now," Song Chi said, "How can we not stay up? The filming for ’Jiangyun Platform’ is already overdue, and if we don’t hurry to finish, it’ll cost a lot extra."
Zhou Yun: "Is Zuo Hang still filming slowly as before?"
Song Chi nodded, saying, "There’s no choice. He can’t speed up filming, and with the delay, he’s under a lot of pressure himself."
Zhou Yun: "We can’t let it keep dragging on indefinitely."
"No worries, it’s almost finished. We’ve basically shot most of it," Song Chi said, "I’ve told him, no matter what, let’s film the necessary material first, and if needed, we can always reshoot later."
"Hmm," Zhou Yun said, "Is the funding okay at your company? Do you need some turnover from my side?"
Song Chi said, "This month, I’ve signed two endorsements for quick consumption brands, and the endorsement fees have brought a fresh wave of funds, so for now, we don’t need it."
"They’re not some dodgy products, right? Don’t accept endorsements from flawed brands just to raise money."
"No, rest assured, if it comes to that point, I’ll definitely talk to you."
Zhou Yun trusted that Song Chi was not the type to make poor decisions and nodded.
However, the financial pressure on Song Chi’s company must be significant.
Several films are being shot simultaneously, without any funds coming back in.
No matter how capable Song Chi is of earning money, he can’t fill such a big financial gap alone.
Zhou Yun thought to herself, she had to help Song Chi generate more income. Previously, she helped connect Song Chi’s company with some overseas companies, discussing the overseas sales of the series ’Mother’, but Wu Chengbao took over the negotiations later, and she still didn’t know how it turned out.
Such negotiations, how did they go, and what price was achieved?
Yet, a company running normally would see the funding chain functioning adequately without needing Song Chi to rely on endorsements to keep it afloat.
Zhou Yun hoped the filming of ’Jiangyun Platform’ would proceed smoothly without any further hindrances delaying the process.
However, after filming ’Jiangyun Platform’, there’s still post-production to be done, and since this is a disaster film, post-production special effects will surely be costly. Can Song Chi’s company manage it?
Zhou Yun felt worried for Song Chi.
She shared her concerns with Zhou Lan.
