A day had passed, but Anika hadn't called or texted Joshua to apologize. All messages he'd received were work-related.

"I'd like to see how long you can keep it this way!"

Joshua threw his phone aside, got up, and walked to the kitchen.

The moment he opened the refrigerator, he froze.

Because in the fridge, along with some food, there were various medicinal herbs piled up.

Joshua randomly picked up a package.

It read, "Five times a day, used to treat infertility."

Joshua sniffed at the herbs and found their smell unpleasant.

He finally knew how Anika got that smell earlier.

Joshua felt relieved, thinking he'd found the reason for Anika's tantrum.

He returned to the master bedroom and went to bed.

He had plans to go golfing with his friend, Valentin, today.

Therefore, Joshua changed into his sportswear in the dressing room early in the morning.

After that, he walked to the living room. Out of habit, he started to tell Anika that he wouldn't be coming home today.

Joshua arrived at the golf course in a good mood.

After yesterday, all of their friends knew that Anika wanted a divorce.

He just wanted to hear Joshua say it so that he could ask Violet, who had been waiting outside, to come in.

Taking a sip of water, Joshua indifferently replied.

"Nothing special. Anika and I are getting a divorce."

Valentin still felt somewhat surprised when it was confirmed that the rumor was true.

As Joshua's friend, he knew Anika very well. That woman was a hypothetical bitch who wouldn't let Joshua go!

If a divorce was on the table, the two would have done it a long time ago instead of dragging it along for three years.

"Did she agree?" Valentin asked.

Joshua replied, with no usual glint in his eyes, "It was her idea."

Valentin sneered, "She's just playing hard to get."

He added, "I've seen many women like her."

He changed the subject, grinning, "Joshua, I have a surprise for you today."

Joshua looked puzzled.

Valentin texted Violet.

The next moment, Joshua saw Violet waving at him playfully from not far away. She was dressed in crimson sportswear, looking attractive.

In no time, Violet came over to them.

Valentin said, "I'll give you two some privacy. I don't want to be the third wheel."

With that, Valentin left.

Violet suggested that she and Joshua go for a walk.

Near the golf course was the college they both attended.

Violet understood men very well. Instead of bringing up Anika, she talked about their past.

"Joshua, do you remember this path?

"We used to walk here a lot when we were dating.

"Back then, you held my hand and said you wanted to keep doing that forever."

Violet stopped in her tracks and reached out her hand.

"Joshua, can we still work together holding hands?"

When she touched Joshua's hand, he instinctively pulled away.

Violet was stupefied.

Joshua said, remaining calm, "I don't remember anything from the past."

Studying, dating, marriage, and work...

As far as Joshua was concerned, those were just things that everyone had to experience, just as jobs that he had to complete.

Violet's eyes turned red, and she asked, "Are you still mad at me?

"I didn't want to leave you back then. I had no choice. I loved you so much...

She continued, "I will thank her for giving you back to me."

Tears started falling from her eyes, and she hugged Joshua around his waist.

"I hate Anika. I hate her so much. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't have been apart for so long."

Perhaps all people were forgetful.

Violet forgot that she'd broken up with Joshua before Anika and Joshua got engaged.

Anika's serene and gentle look came to Joshua's mind.

He remembered how she looked at him with tears in her eyes after her father's passing, asking him, "Joshua, could you hug me?"

But at that time, Eli had made it impossible for them to get married. He took all the money Joshua had given the Carey family, as well as everything that the Carey family was supposed to give Joshua.

Hence, Joshua walked away from Anika without even saying a word to make her feel better.

Valentin explained, "Anika's lawyer gave me this, saying that this was compensation for your three-year marriage."

"Does she think 16 million will make me spare the Carey family and forgive her?" Joshua mocked without holding back in front of Valentin and Violet.

Valentin finally realized what was going on. He snorted, "That girl has been pretending to be innocent, but she's secretly hiding 16 million dollars.

"Does her brother and greedy mother know about it?"

Violet heard the mockery on Anika from Joshua and Valentin, secretly gloating.

She had been worried that Joshua might have feelings for Anika, especially since they were married for three years.

Now she knew that even if they were married for a lifetime, a remarkable man like Joshua would never be interested in the insipid Anika.

Anika was not even qualified to be her love rival.
