From Broken Bride to Tycoon's Trophy Wife

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

These past few days, Lucas has been taking me out shopping and sightseeing, saying he wants to nurture our relationship.

Even though I've been consciously trying to distance myself from some things and people from my past, gossip about Wendy still manages to reach me through mutual friends.

The first thing Mr. and Mrs. Wilson did when they got back to Harbor City was go to the hospital to check Wendy's medical records. The results were shocking.

Mr. Wilson quickly noticed that Wendy's test results were off, showing signs of manipulation. So they started digging deeper.

It turned out Wendy didn't have any terminal illness at all, she was completely healthy. Her frequent fainting spells and other symptoms were all just an act to get Nolan's sympathy.

When Mrs. Wilson found this out, she had security throw Wendy and all her things out of the hospital. Wendy was so scared, she clung to the doorframe, crying and refusing to leave.

"Aunt Wilson, please don't throw me out, don't throw me out…"

"If Nolan finds out, he'll definitely be mad at you."

Mrs. Wilson was furious and slapped her across the face. "How dare you mention Nolan? Get out of here, now!"

"You're just wasting medical resources!"

After being thrown out, Wendy crouched down outside the hospital, sobbing, and called Nolan.

Five minutes later, Nolan showed up. Wendy thought he had come to support her, but instead, he looked furious. Without saying a word, he grabbed her by the hair and yanked her back.

"What did you just say?"

"You're not sick? You've been faking it the whole time?"

Wendy was so terrified she didn't dare cry out loud. She just whispered, pleading.

"Nolan, I did this because I love you so much…"

"And didn't you say you liked me too? You said Lily was too perfect, that you felt pressured being with her."

"I'm different. With me, you can relax and be happy…"

Before she could finish, Nolan threw her to the floor.

"Who do you think you are?"

"You think you can compare to Lily?"

"Ten of you aren't worth even one of her fingers!"

Wendy, now with a bitter smile, looked up at him.

"Nolan, why won't you admit it? You've already fallen for me."

"If you didn't like me, why do you always take care of me, always standing up for me against those who bully me?"

Nolan just stared at her, his expression cold as he dropped the truth bomb.

"I took care of you because Lily told me you were her good friend."

"I helped you just to keep her calm."

"If you weren't Lily's best friend, do you really think I'd even care about you?"

Wendy stood there in disbelief, her world crashing down. She started screaming in the street.

When she finally stopped yelling, she said to Nolan, almost with a smug smile.

"Guess what? I live-streamed our entire wedding ceremony to Lily on the day we got married."

"How many times do you think she called you that day? What do you think went through her mind when she heard the sounds of our wedding night?"

Nolan, now completely unhinged after losing me, became a total wreck.
