His Perfect Trap, My Perfect Revenge

Chapter 14

Chapter 14

Before Calvert could get another word out, Sabrina interrupted him. But the second he arched a brow with that unmistakable smirk, her bravado wavered.

"I—I don't feel so great today," she murmured, barely above a whisper. "I don't think I should drive... I hope you understand, Mr. Hansen."

Calvert let out a low chuckle. "Not feeling well? No worries, I've got a whole pharmacy at my place. Drive me back, and I'll take care of you." His tone dripped with fake concern, growing more suggestive with every word.

"Mr. Hansen—"

Sabrina barely got the words out before Magnus's fist collided with Calvert's face. He slammed him to the ground, throwing punch after punch until Sabrina yanked him away.

Calvert wiped blood from his lip as he staggered up. "Got a death wish, Magnus? Hitting me? Guess you don't give a damn about the deal anymore, huh?"

Magnus stood rigid, his voice icy. "Fine by me. My family doesn't do business with scum like you."

He turned to leave, Sabrina in tow, but Calvert's mocking voice stopped them cold.

"Magnus, you really think you know Sabrina?" He smirked. "Might wanna watch who you trust. Just looking out for you."

"I don't need advice from trash." Magnus didn't even glance back, gripping Sabrina's hand as they stormed out of the café. Outside, her fingers trembled in his.

"I'm sorry, Magnus..." Her voice cracked, fragile as glass.

He looked down at her, chest tightening. "It's fine. I'll find another partner—his family wasn't worth it." He pulled her close, holding her like he could shield her from everything.

But losing the deal was just the start.

Days later, Magnus knew something was off. The company's stocks were plummeting, and no strategy could stop the freefall. Then, two weeks in, as he drowned in paperwork, a headline flashed across his screen:

[BREAKING: Mrs. Colon Caught in Affair with Malcolm Corp CEO!]

Beneath it, intimate photos of Chelsea and Alaric.

Magnus's jaw clenched. He called Sabrina in immediately.

"Did you do this?" His voice was steel.

She didn't flinch. "Yes."

"Why release these without telling me?"

"The sooner it's out, the sooner you divorce Chelsea and take her family's shares. Win-win, right?" She circled behind him, fingers kneading his shoulders. "I did it for you—for the company."

"How'd you even get these?" His tone was dangerously calm.

"Had some friends help. No big deal." She slid onto his lap, arms looping around his neck. "Now that I've handed you her family's shares..." Her lips brushed near his. "How will you thank me?"

She leaned in—but Magnus turned away.

"Who told you to do this?" His fists balled, frustration sharp in his voice.

"I thought this was what you wanted," she purred, eyes teasing.

He searched her gaze but found no answers—only doubt. Was this what he wanted?

Before he could untangle the thought, the office door creaked open.

Calvert lounged in the doorway, amusement glinting in his eyes.
