I Raised My Husband's Love Child

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

My son's name was officially changed from Kian Walton to Kian Greenwood. Under their management, the company began to crumble, and its market value plummeted. But they didn't seem to care. Their confidence was bolstered by Kian's new girlfriend, Grace Montgomery, a rising star in the business world. She was a powerhouse, known for her sharp mind and decisive actions. Like a comet blazing through the sky, she stormed the corporate world, quickly becoming a legend. She didn't just climb the ranks, she redefined the game and became the talk of the industry.

This newfound connection inflated their arrogance. So, it wasn't surprising when they came to mock me again. Rosie shot me a smug look, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Well, of course. Look at whose son he is! I always taught Kian to have an eye for quality. Ordinary women? Not even worth a second glance."

"Thankfully, my son is capable, just like me!" she beamed, latching onto Stephen's arm with one hand and Kian's with the other, radiating smugness. "Our family's best days are just beginning!"

"Hahaha!" Their laughter filled the room, unrestrained and victorious, as if they were already living in a future of unlimited wealth and prestige.

Listening to their smug chuckles, I quietly finished the last bite of my meal, a faint smile curling on my lips. "Yes," I thought. "Your best days are just beginning."

Soon enough, the day of Kian and Grace's wedding arrived. The ceremony was set in the city's most extravagant hotel, buzzing with activity. Inside, industry elites mingled, their invitations granting them access to this grand event. Outside, onlookers gathered, hoping for a glimpse of the spectacle. Even internet influencers had bought overpriced tickets, eager to livestream the wedding and ride the wave of attention.

As cameras captured the lavish decorations and high-profile guests, the livestream chats were flooded with comments.

"This wedding is insane! I can't even imagine something this extravagant!"

"Apparently, Greenwood Corp spent a fortune on this wedding to impress Grace Montgomery!"

"Can you blame them? She's the hottest name in business right now, a true self-made powerhouse!"

"Exactly! She's stunning, capable, and brilliant. I just don't get why she's marrying Kian."

"Everyone knows Kian's just a spineless freeloader."

"Maybe he's just got incredible luck, first a rich mom, now a rich, powerful wife."

"Ugh, some people are just born with all the luck. It's infuriating!"

The wedding quickly became the top trending topic online, with viewers joining by the second. As the world marveled at the opulence of the event and the who's who of the business world in attendance, I quietly made my appearance on the livestream feed.

The moment I appeared, the chat exploded.

"Is that Daphne? Didn't she cut ties with the Greenwood family? What's she doing here?"

"Could it be that giving the heirloom wasn't enough? Don't tell me she's here to give another 'blessing' like last time!"

"No way. Is she about to pull off another shocking stunt?"

"Unbelievable! How can someone be this much of a doormat?"

Inside the venue, many guests turned their heads, noticing me with puzzled expressions. Meanwhile, Stephen and Rosie, who had been happily greeting guests with champagne in hand, froze when they saw me. Their smiles quickly turned into stiff, forced grimaces.
