My Husband's Secretary Called Me a Mistress

Chapter 6

Chapter 6

The female employee waved her hands desperately, trying to explain, but Emily Davis cut her off, handing her a utility knife:

"Just stab her once, and I'll believe you’re not trying to seduce Mr. Johnson."

The female employee hesitated, letting the knife fall to the floor with a clatter.

Emily Davis sneered, "Pathetic."

She then addressed the room, "If the female employee stabs her, I'll trust that none of you are after Mr. Johnson, and you’ll have my backing and benefits."

"Male employees can take part too. Whoever does it will be in line for the next promotion and raise."

Several people seemed tempted by the offer.

However, one person whispered their concern to Emily, "Sister Emily, isn't this too much? If everyone stabs her once, what if she really dies?"

Emily brushed off the concern, "People like her have tough lives. Look, I've stabbed her several times, and she's still alive."

"Besides, what could happen? If anything goes wrong, Mr. Johnson will take care of it."

"And even if it turns into something serious, I can just say she came to the company with a knife trying to kill me, the legitimate wife. It would be self-defense."

"I'll just shed a few tears online, and people will support me."

"Or are you hesitating because you also have your eyes on Mr. Johnson?"

The person shuddered, and before they knew it, Emily had placed a knife in their hand:

"Do it, and I'll believe you."

I lay there, utterly powerless, like a fish out of water, awaiting my fate. The crowd loomed over me like a pack of reapers, each holding a knife.

Emily made everyone an accomplice, casting me into a nightmare.

From my initial cries and desperate struggles, I had reached the point where I couldn't even lift a finger.

Emily watched my suffering with satisfaction.

But she wasn't done.

She looked at everyone and said, "I can't stand her eyes. Whoever ruins them for me will have their bonus doubled next quarter."

Several people’s eyes lit up at the opportunity.

The small female employee who had started it all trembled as she stepped forward, "I'll do it."

She grasped a small utility knife, inching closer to me.

Then, another person stepped forward:

"A knife is too good for her, Sister Emily, let me do it."

It was the person who had earlier pleaded for me.

As she turned her back to Emily, I saw guilt in her eyes, and she mouthed the words: endure.

Again, I was dragged up by my hair, my head slammed repeatedly against the table corner.

It hurt, but my eyes were spared.

Emily was displeased, "Your aim is off."

Suddenly.

The door flew open, and a man strode in, demanding sternly, "What’s going on here?"

I was tossed to the ground. I wanted to reach out, to fall into Andrew Johnson's arms and tell him that the child I had fought so hard to conceive was gone, cruelly taken by the woman before me.

But Emily got there first, standing in front of me, softly explaining to Andrew, "Mr. Johnson, this is the cheap woman I was telling you about."

Andrew frowned slightly, "Even if you’re driving someone out, this is too much."

Emily sneered, "Mr. Johnson, you're too kind. This woman isn’t as innocent as she seems. She's a madwoman."

"When she heard I wouldn’t let her in, she went berserk, charging at me with a knife, reckless, trying to stab anyone in sight."

"If I hadn't reacted quickly, I would've been hurt."

Andrew remained silent, his expression cold and stern, his belief uncertain.

Emily immediately signaled to the nearby colleagues, "If you don’t believe me, ask them. If it weren’t for the other colleagues helping, who knows how many people would’ve been hurt in the office."

"But Mr. Johnson, in a life-or-death situation, it’s easy to lose control. She looks seriously injured, but it’s just superficial wounds."

Andrew nodded, seeming to accept her explanation.

"Move aside, let me see."

Andrew moved past Emily, intending to check my injuries, but when his eyes landed on my exposed skin, he turned his head away.

"Where are her clothes?"

"When she went crazy, she cut them herself with scissors. We were worried she'd hurt herself, so we didn’t dare stop her."

Andrew nodded, "Send her to the hospital."

"Husband..."

I used all my strength to utter the word, but my voice was too faint, only making Andrew turn back.

"What?"

He looked at me with some confusion, unsure, but a hint of fear was deep in his eyes.

'Slap!'

Emily slapped me again.

"Still not repenting? Even now, you lunatic, you can’t stop seducing Mr. Johnson."

"Stop!"

Andrew’s voice was calm yet carried undeniable authority.

"I said send her to the hospital, didn’t you hear?"

"And contact her family. After all, this happened at our company. We should compensate her."

Emily obediently agreed to Andrew's instructions, but her gaze was sinister as she stared at me.

"Andrew Johnson!"

I shouted with all my strength again, this time loud enough for Andrew to turn back.

His eyes were filled with uncertainty, and he slowly approached me.

The closer he got, the more I felt his fear.

Until his hand slightly trembled as he brushed aside the messy hair on my forehead.

Andrew’s eyes widened.
