Chapter21
Chapter21
Richard took Parker straight to the lawyers office, not only was she going to go over her statement with the lawyer before they saw the police tomorrow, but he wanted to speak about a protection order. With some of the messages that had been sent, he wanted to send a clear message to the Jones men that this was unacceptable. Richard felt sick, if this is what they were like when Parker was a grown woman, what had it been like growing up in a house like that?
At the lawyers office Parker was the only one allowed into the office as the lawyer was going to record the testimony. There was also a clerk who was taking note of what Parker was saying. Richard, William and Jaylan were going to sit in the waiting room and wait for Parker. None wanted her to go in alone but they didn't have a choice. Leanne was one of the best lawyers in the area and they knew she would get what she needed.
It had been an hour since Parker had gone into the office when William spotted Leon, Tanner, Mr Jones and Jude. "What the hell are they doing here?" William asked. "Jaylan go into the office and make sure Parker doesn't come out. She doesn't need to see this" Richard stated. Jaylan headed into the office.
"You need to leave" Leanne stated firmly, annoyed that they had been interrupted. The information she was getting from Parker was enough to put away her step father for years. It was neglect, physical, emotional and verbal abuse. "Sorry but your brothers are here with another man" Jaylan stated looking at Parker. "Why?" Parked asked. "Not sure, Richard sent me in here so you didn't come out of the room and spot them" Jaylan stated. Parker just nodded.
Leanne headed out to see what was going on making sure that Parker stayed in the room. "What is going on?" Leanne asked William who was holding his dad back. "That's Mr Jones and his sons. They are here to read Tamia's will. The idiot is bad mouthing Parker saying he will make her pay. John is Tamia's lawyer and is trying to get them into the room" William stated looking disgusted at the people who he once's considered an extension of his family.
"John get your clients in line or they will be escorted off the premises" Leanne stated. "Sure, right this way" John stated. He was not a partner at the firm whereas Leanne was. Jude stayed behind making sure the others were in the room. "I'm really sorry. I'll try to make sure Parker gets what she is entitled to. Our father is trying to get everything and has promised to marry Parker off" Jude whispered before rushing into the room after his father and brothers. It was very clear from the way that Jude was speaking and looking at his father and siblings that he didn't agree with what was happening.
Leanne grabbed some forms and rushed in to the room that Parker was in followed by Richard and William. "Parker, sign this stating I'm your lawyer and acting on your behalf, they are reading your mothers will" Leanne rushed out. She was not going to allow any of the Jones men to leave Parker out of what she was entitled to. "Ok, but what's the problem? I don't want anything from them" Parker replied. "Just sign, I'll call you later. Once you see the blinds close get her out of here" Leanne rushed out will pointing to different places Parker needed to sign.
Leanne headed over to the other room with Parker's paper work and hit the switch to close the blinds. "Right I am here as a representative for Parker Jones. John here is the paper work" Leanne stated slamming the paper work in front of the other lawyer. "Ah, she isn't here so I will have to ask you to leave" John stated looking at Mr Jones who was now visibly pissed off.
Leanne cleared her throat, "John as you aware, Parker is very much entitled to either be here or to have a legal representative present. I am her legal representative and will be acting on her behalf. It's all there and as a lawyer you should be aware of that. Got to say though, attempting to read the will without all parties present and the body barely being cold, I'm sure that's got pull in a court room" Leanna stated.
Jude smiled, he was glad Parker had someone on her side. He knew his father was going to try to take everything and leave Parker with nothing. Jude also clicked that the paper work would of had to be signed today as he glanced at the date which was dated today. Jude clued in on Parker being here and looked towards the windows to get a glimpse of his sister. Unfortunately the blinds were closed and he couldn't see anything.
