Chapter 20: Contractual Disagreement
Chapter 20: Contractual Disagreement
Mila's pov
At first, I didn't understand Mr. Williams' intentions, but his strange behavior clued me in. When I followed him out the door, he waited with me at the BMW. After retrieving what appeared to be only a regular ball point pen, I shrugged at him.
"What's going on? This pen doesn't even write," I said, swirling it in circles on my hand. Nothing came out from the low ink utensil. He pulled me close and glanced over my shoulder at Mr. Adam.
"Be sure to check the quantity carefully," he warned quietly. I nodded suddenly, aware that something suspicious must be going on. Returning to Mr. Adam, I sat down at his round table in the office.
"I just need to check something here," I said as I held my not so special pen. Flipping through the pages I followed my fingernail until I noticed some fine print that I hadn't seen in the original report.
"Is there a problem?" Mr. Adam asked. He tapped the desk a few times, appearing impatient.
"Something isn't right," I said, spinning the document around for him to see.
"What do you mean? This is exactly as we've agreed upon." He picked it up, flipping through the pages, squinting in confusion.
"No, that's not true. See here?" I reached out and tapped the paper with my pen on the paragraph. "You're trying to get more money from us by forcing us to purchase items. I can see several deductions that we can’t return now.”
"That's because you order more every time," he said in rebuttal.
“So, the contract is moot to you?” I asked. “What is the point?”
"Mila, you're new," he began holding my shoulder gently. His sudden touch felt patronizing. "And Robert didn't accompany you so he wouldn't be able to talk to you about the fine points of contractual agreements."
When Mr. Adam's eyes locked with mine, I could see how nervous he was. His words and actions were not sincere, and I knew that. I wondered if he thought he could pull this off with me because I was ignorant to their practices or if he'd been doing this all along, even with Robert.
My insides were burning as I glared at him.
"You're not honoring our agreement. I can see you've tried to sneak in something hoping we wouldn't see and that our accounting would just pay you but that isn't going to happen this time."
Pushing myself away from the table I rose and pivoted, ready to leave the room. Adam swiftly followed me.
"Wait, you don't know what you're talking about!" he exclaimed. I quickened my pace heading straight for the door, but Mr. Adam wasn't giving up. With one final attempt, he held the door, trying to shut it so I couldn't leave.
"You don't want to do this," I said to him. Just as he was reaching out the door flung open. Mr. Adam tried grabbing me, but Mr. Williams pulled me into his arms and protected me.
"Our collaboration is over. I've been suspecting similar issues with the previous partnering with you, Mr. Adam."
"W-Wait. Who are you, exactly?" Mr. Adam asked, tilting his head to the left, wrinkling his forehead.
"I'm the CEO of this company, Mr. Williams. Be prepared to speak to my lawyer."
Mr. Adam dropped his mouth open in surprise.
"You're bluffing, Williams. No way have you-" he was cut off by the sound of his phone ringing in his pocket. Meekly, he pulled it out as it rung repeatedly. When he picked up, I could hear the person on the other line laying things out.
"Certainly, I understand you're the company's lawyer..." His voice trailed off as Mr. Williams decided to take the opportunity to leave with me. Once he was in the driver's seat, he seemed furious. I was incredibly embarrassed, feeling pins and needles in my chest and a knot in my stomach.
The engine roared and we left, with him speeding away. As he kicked it into third gear already going ninety mph we hit the highway. The dials wound up, flying into the red as the engine spun. He knocked it into fourth, then once he was over one hundred and ten mph, he threw it into fifth.
Staring at him, my heart was pounding as I shakily touched his arm.
"What?" he demanded, not taking his eyes off the road. My mouth went dry as I trembled nervously.
"Where are we going? This isn't the way back."
He refused to speak to me. My breathing increased as I became more afraid. I had no idea what was going on. He was angry and driving like a maniac.
When there was an exit, he took it and then we went down a deserted road. We were in the countryside now, and he drove down a considerable distance that made us secluded and private. I looked back and forth trying to figure things out when he unbuckled his belt.
My eyes instantly snapped to his hand as he gripped his cock through his pants.
"Do you know what to do?"
