Chapter 2 Astrid. You deserve to go to hell !
“You’re so full of sh*t, you know? You’ve been lying so much that you actually believe your own lies,” Blake sneered, refusing to believe anything she said.
“Please, trust me! Mikayla’s the one who’s lying to you! How could she possibly have saved you? How? Blake, I’m the one who saved you. Me!” Astrid stubbornly insisted.
“You’re a shameless piece of sh*t!” Blake snapped. “You’re pure evil, Astrid. You deserve to go to hell!”
Astrid stared at him in disbelief. She had loved and protected this man with her life for ten years. Everything she had ever done for him seemed to amount to nothing. He didn’t believe her at all.
Suddenly, she felt a searing pain in her scalp — Blake was pulling her hair and dragging her to the operating theater entrance. Then, he kicked her, forcing her to her knees.
She could feel her bones shatter from the strong impact, but she stubbornly remained silent.
Blake stood in front of her and seethed, “I’m gonna make you pay for what you’ve done to my mother!”
Hearing his vicious words, Astrid felt a chill run down her spine.
In the next moment, a set of papers were flung on her face. Stunned, she slowly picked them up from the floor and examined it—they were divorce papers!
“Y-You want to divorce me?” Astrid turned ghastly pale. She couldn’t believe it. It was her wedding day. Yet, her newly-wedded husband had already prepared the divorce papers beforehand and was forcing her to sign it, just a few hours after their marriage. She was probably the only person in the world who’d end up divorced on the day of her wedding.
“Sign it!” Blake ordered icily.
Astrid lifted her head to face him and willfully asked, “Blake, tell me. Have you ever loved me? Even once?”
“No,” came his cold response.
His indifferent response felt like the cruelest thing in the world. She had loved and cherished him for ten years, and he never did—not even once…
Perhaps the shock and trauma of it drove her close to losing her sanity. Astrid held the divorce papers in her hand, threw her head back, then burst into maniacal laughter. Her wild laughter echoed throughout the empty corridor outside the operating theater.
“I have loved you for ten years, Blake, ten whole years. And for the first time, I’m finally seeing things clearly. Everything was a joke! My love for you… The life we had… It was all a f*cking joke!”
After a moment of pause, she broke down in tears.
“Fine! If this is what you really want, we’ll go our separate ways! I never want to see you ever again!” Astrid stammered through weak sobs. He didn’t love her, nor did her deserve her love, so it was better they parted ways.
Blake didn’t answer. Instead, he smirked and made a phone call.
The police arrived soon after.
“Which one of you is Astrid Noelle?”
Astrid, who was still kneeling on the ground sobbing, looked up. She surrendered herself to the police and allowed them to handcuff her and escort her out of the hospital. As she was led out of the hospital by the police, a swarm of reporters appeared and began furiously snapping pictures. The huge commotion had clearly rattled the entire hospital.
“I heard that Miss Noelle killed her own mother-in-law and nearly murdered Mr. Ledger’s lover too!”
“It’s true! Mrs. Ledger’s body is still lying in the operating theater!”
“What a heartless woman!”
Astrid remained silent despite the vicious words thrown at her.
She turned Blake and asked, “Do you really hate me that much?”
“You’re only getting what you deserve. A life for a life!” Blake smirked.
“I did not kill your mother! I never killed anyone!” Astrid screamed as she struggled profusely. Unfortunately, it was no use. She couldn’t free herself from the handcuffs.
The police quickly restrained her.
“Astrid Noelle, you will never be rid of the blood on your hands!”
Astrid burst into maniacal laughter.
“What blood?” She shrieked. “I never killed anyone! It was Mikayla! She killed your mother with her bare hands! Her hands are the ones dripping with blood. That b*tch…”
Smack!
Blake threw a slap across Astrid’s face.
“Go to hell, Astrid Noelle!” He snarled.
