Chapter 8 Long time no see, Astrid Noelle
Chapter 8 Long time no see, Astrid Noelle
Astrid did did shock and fear !
After five years in prison, she had grown indifferent to everything she used to have. Yet, this man whom she had once loved with all her heart for a decade still managed to affect her emotions. Looking at him now, he was just as dazzling as ever. He stood just a few feet away from her, radiating with a captivating charm that she had adored so much in the past.
However, the love she had for this man had long disintegrated to ashes, from the moment he told her that he never loved her.
Astrid never expected a reunion with Blake under such humiliating circumstances. She thought she would hate him if she ever met him again, but now that he was standing before her, Astrid realized that she didn’t even have the strength to do so.
All she wanted to do now, was to live her life with Carina in peace. Nothing else mattered.
So Astrid simply turned around and walked away.
“Long time no see, Astrid Noelle. Aren’t you going to say hi?” the man asked.
Astrid paused when she heard his voice. Her body trembled from top to toe. She could hear his footsteps drawing closer and closer to her…
Before she knew it, he was already in front of her.
“Look at me!” Blake ordered.
Astrid clenched her fists, then lifted her head to give the man a charming smile. She looked at him as if he were a stranger to her. “Are you sure you’ve got the right person, sir? My name isn’t Astrid Noelle. I’m Raven, a singer at Emporio Club! If there’s nothing else, I’ve got to go. Have a good night, sir!”
Blake laughed when he heard this. He narrowed his eyes at her and smirked, “I’ve got the wrong person? I don’t think so. I see five years in prison did nothing to improve your habit of lying, Astrid!”
Astrid immediately paled when she heard the word “prison”.
‘It’s been so many years, yet he still won’t leave me alone. I’ve lost everything. My life is a living hell, and he still won’t let me go!’
“I’m sorry, I really don’t know what you’re talking about, sir!” Astrid replied.
The tremors from her body betrayed her true feelings.
Blake narrowed his eyes dangerously as he surveyed the woman in front of him.
This woman was indifferent to him. Her gaze was dark and wistful. She was nothing like the girl who used to hang around him, always smiling at him even when he treated her coldly. She had once proudly announced to the world that she would marry no one but him.
‘This was Astrid Noelle? No way.’ Blake smirked. ‘I wonder how she’s living her sh*tty life out of prison now.’
Felix couldn’t help but smile when he saw Blake’s reaction. It wasn’t every day that Blake would display such a large range of emotions. One would mistake him for an emotionless robot if it weren’t for his moments with Astrid.
Suddenly, Blake took a few steps forward, reached out, and grabbed Astrid’s hand. “Oh? Raven, was it? Fine. How much will it cost to have one night with you? I’ll pay.”
He thought that Astrid would lose her temper and scream at him, saying “Blake Ledger, you big jerk!”
Unfortunately, he was wrong. Astrid simply looked up and stared calmly at him, then replied, “I’m sorry, sir. My job description ends with singing on stage. Nothing more!”
