Wifey’s Best Friend Knocks Her Up

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

A year later, my company was on the right track.

With the matchmaking of family and friends, Emma and I got together.

Originally we just wanted to be companions, but we gradually discovered we were actually very compatible.

When she was busy, I would take the initiative to do housework and prepare meals for her the next day.

When I was sick, she would buy medicine for me, make soup, and take time off work to take care of me.

In my interactions with her, I gradually forgot the past and started thinking about marriage.

When she learned I was willing, she quickly agreed to get our marriage license without a second of hesitation. We had a big wedding full of joy and blessings.

I stared at everything in a daze, feeling a bit unreal. It turns out going from dating to marriage doesn't have to take seven years.

Three years after our marriage, we had a daughter.

"You're responsible and dependable. Our child will be very happy being born into this kind of family," she told me in our second year of marriage.

My eyes reddened. I instinctively intertwined our fingers, touched by her trust and also moved that someone finally recognized my efforts and gave me love and appreciation in return.

After our daughter was born, we held a grand celebration.

While organizing the gifts, we found a delicate baby bracelet.

Emma picked it up and admired the design. "This bracelet is quite unique."

"Strange, there's no card saying who it's from."

I took the bracelet, a distant memory suddenly flashing through my mind. I quietly put it away.

"It must be from someone not very important. Let's not worry about it."

Our daughter started crying loudly. I quickly set everything aside and carefully picked her up.

Emma handed me the prepared milk. Our eyes met and we both smiled.
