Chapter 13 The Trap

"I... I'm so sleepy... The night before yesterday when we were together...you were so soft, Eliza... Haha." 

The coffee that Jason and Eliza had given Miah was laced with a kind of sedative.

It was a drug that lowered people's inhibitions, making them blurt out their inner thoughts.

Miah had already pressed the button on the remote control that Jason had with him.

And thus, Jason's unsightly behaviour was currently being broadcasted all over the Internet via the camera he had planted.

Eliza, who had been standing by in front of the computer waiting for the show, was completely stunned as she watched the broadcast.

Bobby looked at the senseless Jason on the floor as if he was a pile of rubbish that made him sick.

"How dare a nobody like him try to harm you!"

He was about to get someone to drag Jason out of the room when Miah gently stopped him.

"I want to handle this matter myself, Mr. Gallagher."

"I respect your wishes, but I'm intervening immediately if the situation gets out of control," Bobby said, admiring her courage.

Miah bent down and held his hand, understanding that he was merely concerned for her. "Don't worry, Mr. Gallagher. I'm quite a capable person.

"I'll definitely give you a big surprise in the future."

Mulling over what she had just said, Bobby stretched out a large hand and cradled her head. With his lips close to her ear, his Adam's apple bobbed before he said in a hoarse voice, "Alright, I'll be waiting!"

The video of Jason instantly went viral.

Miah's methods were extreme.

From licking the coffee to the process of losing his mind, the footage of a 180-centimetre man lying on the ground and acting crazy had all been recorded.

"It hurts to watch", "This is too much", "I can't watch this" read some of the viewers' captions when they shared the video.

Even the words "Eliza Sampson" that were mentioned in the video had become a trending topic on Twitter.

"Oh my god, how lonely must he be to cry out like this..."

"Eliza Sampson must have a strong stomach to be willing to sleep with such a disgusting man like him."

It didn't take long before the Powell family responded.

"Our Jason and the Sampson family's youngest daughter have always been sweet and affectionate towards each other, it's just that we have yet to find the right time to announce their engagement. Jason's parents' words caused a stir on the Internet.

Some even speculated that Miah had deliberately drugged Jason.

A few days later, Eliza and Jason's engagement ceremony was held as scheduled.

Miah arrived at the venue punctually, weaing a dark purple fishtail dress.

Eliza gritted her teeth in anger when she saw that Miah had attracted everyone's attention.

Jason's mother was the first to react.

"Miah Sampson! The reason we invited you here today is to get even with you! You drugged my son and ruined his reputation! I'm calling the police right now to arrest you!"

Jason's mother immediately began dialling the number as soon as she finished speaking.

"We shall see!" Miah shot back with a smirk on her face.

A group of uniformed police officers walked in soon after she spoke.

Mrs. Powell looked at her phone, which clearly only had two numbers keyed in.

She hadn't made the phone call yet.

How were they here so fast?

A police officer showed his identification to the man and woman on stage, saying, "Jason Powell and Eliza Sampson, you're suspected of illegal drug administration and attempted rape. Come with us!"

Mrs. Powell panicked.

"W-What's going on?

"Did you get it wrong, officers? It was my son who had been drugged!"

"We came here to arrest the culprit based on a report we received from Miah Sampson," the officer replied.
