Chapter 14 The Miscarriage

The officer impartially presented the file that Miah had handed to them earlier.

It contained evidence of the past incident where she had been drugged by Naomi and Jason.

Additionally, it also had evidence of how Jason had lured her into a patient room in an attempt to trick her into drinking drug-laced coffee.

"No, how could this be? My son isn't the kind of person who would do such a thing! I-It must be that b*tch, Eliza. She must have incited my son!"

Eliza paled.

She was indeed the one who came up with these ideas. However, she did all the transactions virtually on the dark web. How did Miah find out about them so easily?

She must have gotten help from Bobby.

"I'm innocent, officer, I don't have anything to do with this! Miah is framing me!

"You can't arrest me on the day of my engagement ceremony!"

Miah took a step forward and whispered in Eliza's ear, "Welcome to hell on earth, Eliza. Do you like my engagement gift?"

"I'm not going, I won't! Don't even think about acting against me again!"

Miah wanted to drag her down from the stage.

However, just as she was about to touch Eliza, Eliza let out an ear-piercing scream as she fell from the half-meter-high platform.

Bright red blood quickly seeped out from her white engagement dress!

"Ah! It hurts! My baby!"

The situation instantly devolved into chaos at the sound of Eliza's screaming and the sight of her blood.

"She's bleeding! She's bleeding! Someone, help!

"Call an ambulance!"

Mrs. Powell's face paled.

The sole reason the Powells were willing to accept Eliza as their daughter-in-law was that she was pregnant with Jason's child.

To them, children were more important than anything else.

They would be willing to do anything as long as someone was able to give birth to an heir for the family.

Thus, the current situation undoubtedly felt like a terrible blow to the Powells.

"Miah Sampson, how dare you!"

Mrs. Powell was looking at Miah with rage-filled eyes.

"You b*tch!!

"Murderer! If anything happens to our precious grandchild, we will definitely make you pay with your life!"

The Powell family members were currently out of their minds. Mrs. Powell charged forward to hit Miah but was stopped by several policemen.

Everyone was thoroughly convinced that Miah had caused Eliza to miscarry.

Jason's face was ashen and his eyes were bloodshot as he stared at Miah; his usual gentlemanly façade was nowhere to be seen.

Gritting his teeth, he said, "If anything happens to Eliza, I'll be the first to come after you, Miah!"

The guests were also murmuring among themselves.

"Miah has gone too far."

"Does she think she's above the law just because she's got Bobby Gallagher wrapped around her finger? It's a life-and-death situation!"

"What are you waiting for, officers? Hurry up and arrest her!"

The police may have been present when the incident happened, but they didn't have a clear sight of it from their point of view.

Hence, they weren't certain if Eliza had fallen off on her own or if Miah had pushed her off.

Just as they were in a dilemma, Miah burst into laughter.

Dressed in an exquisite evening dress, her red lips parted as the sound of her crisp, melodious laughter filled the air. It was particularly unscrupulous given the circumstance.

The onlookers became even more appalled.

"Oh my god, how can she still laugh? Has she gone crazy due to fear?"

The officers were also confused by Miah's outburst. Just as the lead officer was about to say something, Miah abruptly stopped.

Miah stood tall in her high heels with her back perfectly straight as she looked down at Eliza who was lying on the ground.

"Hey Eliza, do you know that Jason can't sire any children whatsoever?"

All the guests present were immediately in an uproar at her words.

"Y-You're lying!" Eliza replied from her position on the ground as the ambulance had not yet arrived. "First, you pushed me, and now you want to slander us. H-How can you be so vicious...

"My stomach hurts, it hurts so bad..."

Eliza continued with her act.

Miah's eyes were extremely cold. "The Powell family has suffered from many generations of infertility, hence it's impossible for Jason to sire children through natural pregnancy. So where did the child in your belly come from?

"Is it a gift from the goddess of fertility? Or... is it another man's child?"

Her words shocked everyone.

"No way...What a plot twist!"

"No way. I think Miah is slandering her out of desperation!"

"This is Jason's genetic data. You can read it yourself if you don't believe me."

With a quick few taps on her phone, Jason's genetic information was displayed on the screen behind them.

Miah had unintentionally seen the Powell family's genetic information in her previous life.

The Powells had a genetic defect which made it very difficult for them to have children. Thus, when Jason had inadvertently blurted out that Eliza was pregnant with his child while he was under the effects of the drug, she went and searched for his genetic information.

Jason was completely incapable of siring children at all.

That was why Eliza had deliberately fallen off the stage to cover up the fact that she had been impregnated by someone else and in the process frame Miah as well in front of so many witnesses.

No one expected that this matter would have so many plot twists.

The ambulance arrived at the scene while everyone was still reeling from shock.
