From Cell to Crown- The Disgraced Heiress Returns

Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Wendy finally smiled, a smug expression spreading across his face. "It's a deal!"

Evan quickly signed the contract with Wendy, then turned his gaze to Dion. "This is just the beginning. If you don't want things to escalate, I suggest you return my sister to me."

Dion let out a light chuckle, but the smile in his eyes was as cold as ice. "It's not that I don't want to. It's that your sister doesn't want to see you."

The words hit Evan and Drake like a punch to the gut, fury rising in both of them. "Why wouldn't Narissa want to see us? You must have said something to her!"

Drake's face darkened, his eyes flashing with malice. He spoke with a sneer, dripping with contempt and arrogance. "Dion, I've known Narissa since we were kids. We've been inseparable for years. You can't even begin to compare to the bond we share after just a year or two."

The smile on Dion's face vanished entirely. His voice was cold and measured as he repeated, "Childhood friend? Inseparable?"

Suddenly, his gaze lifted, locking onto the two men. His voice was chilling. "Then why did you put a price on her head and list her on a website?"

Drake scoffed, a smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. "What do you know? We were just trying to find her faster."

At that moment, Evan's voice rose with urgency. "Mr. Ashford, Narissa is my sister. No one cares about her more than I do. If we could, we wouldn't want things to reach a point of no return. I just want you to return her to me—considering I'm her brother."

Dion's expression remained unchanged, but his tone was sharp, filled with disdain. "You used your connections to hire strangers to track her down, stirring up extreme thoughts in people and leading to multiple kidnapping attempts. If it weren't for me, she might already be in danger. Everything she's gone through? It's because of you. And you still have the nerve to say you're worried about her?"

Evan was momentarily stunned, his face draining of color. But Drake, seething with anger, clenched his fists tightly, his body coiled with fury. "Kidnapping? If it weren't for your interference, she'd have been back with us long ago."

Dion remained silent, his icy demeanor unshaken.

After the banquet, it was Evan who reached out to Dion. [I appreciate the care you've shown Narissa over the past two years. At this point, you're like family to me—but all I want is to see her for just a moment.]

Dion ignored the message. The number had originally been for work, but now it was bombarded with texts. [My father is dying from terminal stomach cancer. He's held on all this time just to see Narissa once. If you truly love her, don't let her regret this.]

Dion had asked Narissa about it, and her only response was a bitter laugh. "I won't see him, and I'll never regret it."

Dion's voice was calm and unwavering. "If you don't want to go, then don't. Don't worry. With me here, no one can hurt you."

His response only sharpened the tension between the Ashford, Kingsley, and Sterling families. The Sterling Family spared no expense in repeatedly blocking Ashford Family projects, even joining forces with others to suppress them.

Evan had tried reasoning with Dion multiple times, but when he saw that Dion wasn't backing down, his expression grew even colder. "I suggest you think carefully, or this will just be the beginning."

Dion, unfazed, merely shrugged. "For me, it's also just the beginning. If you want trouble, I won't hold back."

But like wild dogs, they wouldn't stop provoking him. Drake repeatedly threatened, "You'd better back off, or I'll make sure you hand Narissa over."

He even called the police, demanding the Ashford Family hand Narissa over.

In response, Narissa severed all ties with the Sterling Family, casting a cold glance at Evan and Drake in the distance.

"I hope Mr. Sterling and Mr. Kingsley will no longer interfere with my life. If not, I will have no choice but to take further action."
