From Cell to Crown- The Disgraced Heiress Returns

Chapter 25

Chapter 25

If he could, Dion wished he were the one lying in that operating room instead of Narissa. But no matter how powerful he was, all he could do was wait anxiously outside.

The next day, Narissa gave birth. The moment Dion was allowed to see her, he rushed in, his eyes red from worry and exhaustion. He gripped her hand tightly, his voice soft yet firm, "Don't be scared. I'm here."

She gave him a faint, tired smile before closing her eyes. Their baby girl, Nadine, was named by combining characters from both Narissa and Dion's names.

The Ashford family took great care of Nadine, while Narissa was sent to a postpartum care center to recover.

Months passed, and Narissa's health returned to normal. One day, John nudged Dion, "You're still young. Take some time off, enjoy life. Leave Nadine with your mom and me for a bit."

Carol, holding the baby, brought Nadine over to Narissa. The little girl's features were delicate, a perfect mix of both her parents. Narissa smiled as she reached out to tease her.

But Nadine surprised her by opening her mouth as if to bite her. Narissa quickly pulled her hand back in shock, a chill running down her spine.

Carol laughed softly, "She's probably hungry. Look at how much she's grown." Narissa chuckled, a sense of nostalgia sweeping over her. "She was just a tiny thing in the pictures before. Now, look at her."

She hesitated before reaching out again, careful not to tease the baby this time.

Soon after, Dion whisked Narissa away on a series of trips across the country. Whenever they missed Nadine, they'd make video calls.

They traveled for three years, returning only occasionally during the holidays, until they returned to find Nadine didn't recognize them as well as they had hoped.

Narissa gently scooped Nadine up, and Carol pinched the little girl's cheek, "Say 'Mommy'."

Nadine, bold and unafraid, grinned and said, "Mommy, hug."

Narissa's heart melted. Overcome with guilt, she and Dion decided to stop their constant travels and spend more time at home with their family.

At a photo studio, Dion had a family portrait taken with his loved ones. The photo was proudly displayed in the living room.

His parents admired the framed picture, complimenting it non-stop. Nadine sat nearby, happily playing with her building blocks, creating a warm, cheerful atmosphere.

Dion reached over and gently took Narissa's hand, their fingers intertwining. "Narissa, meeting you is the happiest thing that's ever happened to me."

Narissa met his gaze, her smile soft and genuine. "I feel the same."

Without those travels, she might never have met him. Looking back now, everything seemed like a dream. In her heart, she was deeply thankful that fate had brought Dion into her life.
