I Raised My Husband's Love Child

Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Rosie was absolutely livid. "Unbelievable! Those clueless internet trolls actually praise you, calling you the most innocent, love-struck fool! In my opinion, you're more disgusting than anyone else!" she snapped, her fury evident.

Kian, still seething, joined in, his voice dripping with contempt. "You really know how to put on a show, don't you? You have a daughter with wealth that could rival nations, yet you live in a run-down little house, eating porridge and buns every day?"

"Are you really willing to endure this kind of life just to scam me out of a measly two hundred bucks for allowance?"

"How could anyone be as fake and disgusting as you?" he spat.

The three of them, Rosie, Kian, and Stephen, took turns hurling insults at me, each one more cutting than the last. But before I could even muster a response, Grace's expression darkened, her voice cold and filled with authority.

"You people really have some nerve," she said, her tone icy.

"My mother gave everything for you. She dedicated decades of her life to you, and this is how you repay her? You bully and slander her, and for what?" Her eyes flashed with anger. "Do you think everyone is as despicable and vile as you?"

Grace's words hit like a thunderclap, and even Stephen seemed taken aback, his face turning red with rage. "Grateful? Does she deserve it?" he sneered. "She's a woman with so much wealth, what good is it to her?"

"If she'd just given me everything earlier, there wouldn't be any problem!" he added with a sneer.

Rosie shot me a venomous look and sneered, "Daphne, do you have no shame? If you're upset, why not just say it outright? Using your illegitimate daughter to seduce Kian and ruin this wedding, what kind of trick is that?"

Kian glared at me viciously before turning to Grace, his tone dripping with false sincerity. "Grace, I know you love me. But this time, you've really gone too far. You've made me upset."

"If you sever ties with Daphne now and transfer all your assets to me, maybe I'll consider forgiving you," Kian added, his words audacious and filled with arrogance.

His proposal was so shocking that I almost wanted to laugh. But more than that, it left Grace speechless with anger.

She stared at him coldly, her voice filled with disdain. "You, forgive me?"

"How dare you say that?" she scoffed. "Don't think I don't know what's going on here. You're marrying me for my assets."

"I, Grace Montgomery, am not blind. There's no way I'd ever fall for someone as useless and treacherous as you!" she declared, her voice firm.

"Instead of acting like you're entitled to everything, you should be worried about how to save your Greenwood family business!"

Grace's words cut straight to the heart of the matter, and she didn't hesitate to speak the truth. Kian's face turned beet red with rage, and it was clear that if it weren't for Grace's influence and power, he would've already thrown a punch.

Stephen, on the other hand, stiffened, his eyes narrowing with suspicion. "Grace, what do you mean by that?"

"What do you mean, 'saving Greenwood Corp'?" he demanded.

Rosie, equally confused, chimed in, "Exactly! Greenwood Corp is doing fine! What are you talking about saving it?"

"Stop cursing us!" she hissed, clearly rattled.

I couldn't help but scoff at their ignorance and arrogance. "You'll find out soon enough," I muttered, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

Just as I finished speaking, Kian's phone rang. He answered it immediately, his brow furrowing as he listened.

"Mr. Greenwood, we can't get in touch with any of our suppliers! Our partners are demanding delivery, but we have nothing to give them!" his assistant's frantic voice came through the phone.

Kian's eyes widened in concern. "Then go through other channels and get the goods! Pay whatever price is necessary. Just get some products in quickly before the crisis escalates!"

But the assistant's voice was even more frantic now. "We've tried, Mr. Greenwood! No one is willing to sell to us. All of our channels have been taken over by Grace's people!"
