I Raised My Husband's Love Child

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

"A pathetic, fallen woman like you has the audacity to know someone like Grace?" Rosie spat, seething with contempt.

Kian, hearing this, nodded in agreement, his gaze dripping with scorn. "Exactly, just look at you, poor and pathetic. You're not even worthy to carry Grace's shoes!"

"Where's security?" he barked, scanning the room. "Get this crazy woman out of here now! Don't let her ruin my wedding with Grace!"

With a single command, the hotel security swiftly closed in around me. Just as they were about to force me out, a sharp, icy female voice rang out.

"I dare you to lay a finger on my mother!"

Everyone turned toward the voice. Standing in the center of the hall was Grace. Her custom-made wedding gown shimmered in the light, and her beauty was ethereal. Her face was like a delicate lotus, her brows perfectly shaped, and her presence radiated an elegance that was almost otherworldly. It was as if she had descended from the heavens, captivating everyone with her grace.

But it wasn't just her beauty that took everyone by surprise, it was what she said.

Kian was the first to react, stepping forward with confusion written all over his face. "Grace, why are you calling Daphne 'mom'?"

Rosie, scrambling to salvage the situation, plastered a forced smile and tried to flatter Grace. "Yes, Grace, I'm Kian's mother. Daphne's nothing but a fool with money, oh wait, she doesn't even have money now, just foolishness."

"Don't make a mistake, dear!" she added with a nervous laugh.

Stephen, nodding earnestly, joined in. "Yes, Grace, you may not know our situation well, but Daphne did raise Kian. She's not related to him by blood."

"You don't need to be kind to her just because of Kian," Stephen continued, his voice laced with condescension. "She doesn't deserve your respect."

Their words caused the guests to murmur in realization.

"Looks like Grace mistook Daphne for her future mother-in-law, and that's why she sent the wrong invitation."

"Ah, now it makes sense. I was wondering where Daphne suddenly got a daughter from."

"Awkward. This is going to be a disaster for Daphne."

The livestream chat exploded with viewers eagerly awaiting the moment I would finally snap out of my delusion and stop worshipping Rosie and her family.

But just then, Grace's face turned cold. Her eyes sharpened with authority as she glanced at Kian, and with all eyes on her, she slowly walked toward me.

With a respectful expression, she spoke softly, "Mom, thank you for all the years of guidance and nurturing."

"I once promised to meet you at the peak. I will do everything I can to repay you for the love and care you've given me."

"Today, I have come to fulfill that promise."

At first, Grace's words could have been dismissed as a misunderstanding. But with her actions, there was no question, this was no mistake. Everything was deliberate.

This time, the room fell into stunned silence. The livestream chat was flooded with even more questions:

"Wait, is Daphne really Grace's mother?"

"No way! Haven't we all seen Daphne raising someone else's son for the past twenty years? How could she suddenly have such an amazing daughter?"

"Exactly! And Grace is incredible! Compared to that useless son, she's like night and day!"

"Unbelievable, Daphne's been hiding this for so long!"

"Is the love-struck woman finally fighting back?!"

The crowd was in shock. Meanwhile, Stephen's face turned an alarming shade of purple as he hissed, "So, Daphne, you've really been hiding this, huh? You acted all devoted to me, and now you have a secret daughter like this?"
