Killed by Dad's Criminals, Dissected by Mom

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

My parents quickly returned to the team. The killer's whereabouts were still unknown. My dad, gritting his teeth, declared, "I will capture that demon as soon as possible, to comfort my daughter's spirit."

When the police had exhausted their search, my brother unexpectedly found a clue. Maybe it was a journalist's intuition, but he often felt someone lurking around the house. After asking the security to check the surveillance, the footage revealed a milkman.

Killers often revisited the crime scene. My killer, Ethan Brown, was no exception. He wanted to observe my parents' grief up close, seeking satisfaction from it. But his arrogance led to his capture.

Ethan showed no sign of fear or anxiety. He calmly watched as my brother supported my parents into the house.

When the police team came up empty-handed, my brother unexpectedly found a clue. Perhaps it was his journalistic instincts, as he frequently sensed someone hovering around our home. He requested the security guard to review the surveillance footage, which revealed a milkman. Like many killers, the culprit was drawn back to the scene of his crime. The murderer of my brother, Ethan Brown, was no exception. He was eager to witness our parents' grief firsthand, seeking some twisted sense of satisfaction. But his arrogance led to his downfall.

Ethan displayed no fear or anxiety. He watched calmly as my brother escorted our parents into the house. He rattled the silver handcuffs on his wrist and sneered, "Got a light?" My dad slammed the table in anger, "Do you think this is your home? You're a murderer, and you still dare to smile!"

Ethan met my mom's hateful gaze with an even broader grin. "Captain Johnson, Dr. Brown, what a devoted couple in the police force. Did you ever think this day would come when you arrested my brother?" My mom screamed, "Your brother killed someone, he deserved to die! What did our Emily do wrong?" Ethan's delight only grew at their suffering. "Her mistake was being your daughter. Your last words to her were that she was pretending to be dead, and you shouldn't have welcomed her back."

"She must have died with regrets. Too bad I can't be sure, since I gouged out her eyes." My brother couldn't hold back any longer and punched Ethan hard. Ethan spat out blood and sneered, "No wonder she's your daughter. She could endure a lot. I carved her face to provoke her into cursing you, but she stayed silent. She said her parents would always be her heroes. I got tired of hearing it, so I cut out her tongue."

"You monster, you don't deserve to live!" my mom screamed hysterically, her eyes filled with rage. Ethan's laughter only grew louder, piercing their hearts like daggers. My mom shivered, clenching her teeth to hold back tears, "We failed Emily. We didn't fulfill our duty as parents." Dad held her close, eyes shut in grief, "Emily died because of us. It's our fault."

As they left, looking frail and worn, Ethan whispered like a devil, "Guess why I spared your other daughter?"
