Married to the Billionaire by Chance

Chapter 30 Follow the Company's Arrangements

Chapter 30 Follow the Company's Arrangements

Allyson seemed to defend Gracelyn, but she actually exposed all of Gracelyn's secrets.

As expected, as soon as this statement came out, other colleagues in the department all looked at Gracelyn in surprise.

"Husband? Gracelyn, did you marry to Patrick?" Marina was the first to speak. It was well known that Marina was the best at gossip.

"Isn't the focus supposed to be on her sending her boyfriend to work? I didn't understand. How did you send him, Gracelyn? Did you buy a car?"

"When did you get married? We didn't even know it."

Everyone was talking, and Gracelyn didn't know where to start answering the questions.

Rosa interrupted the crowd. "Enough. It's work time now. Focus on your work!"

After speaking, she looked at Gracelyn again, "Gracelyn, I shouldn't interfere with your personal life. But if your personal life affects your work, don't blame me for not reminding you."

Gracelyn hurriedly nodded. "Yes, I promise it won't happen again."

Rosa said nothing more and walked back to her office, followed by Allyson.

As soon as the two left, Marina immediately slid her chair over. "Gracelyn, what's going on? Did you really get married?"

Gracelyn nodded, knowing what Marina was going to ask next. "Yes, but not to Patrick."

"Come on. I heard what Allyson said. Your husband is not as good as Patrick. At least Patrick used to pick you up from work. Why is it the other way around now?"

"It's complicated to explain for a while. Let's just focus on work."

Gracelyn didn't want to discuss these things with Marina. Marina just wanted to satisfy her gossip and didn't really care about her.

After Allyson came to Rosa's office, they closed the door. Rosa asked directly, "Allyson, what's the matter?"

Allyson sat down in a chair and smiled, "I just came to talk to you about Gracelyn."

"What happened to her?" Rosa also sat down.

"I saw her riding an electric scooter to send her husband this morning, and then she was late for work, right?"

Rosa frowned. "And then? What do you want to say?"

"Have you noticed anything wrong with Gracelyn secretly getting married and treating her husband so well? She even got late for work for him."

"Just speak freely." Rosa didn't bother to beat around the bush with her.

Allyson sighed, "Okay, then I'll. Gracelyn is married, and the next step is having a child, right? Let's not talk about the child for now.

"You know Gracelyn's job. If she frequently comes late or takes leave in the future, won't she take advantage of her job convenience to do something on the attendance?"

Rosa was slightly stunned and suddenly looked at Allyson. "Gracelyn shouldn't be that kind of person."

Allyson found it absurd. "Whether she is that kind of person or not, don't draw conclusions so early. You can check her attendance record. Or let me tell you about two other people. You can check their attendance records from last month."

Rosa stared at Allyson for a while and then suddenly smiled, "Do you and her have a grudge?"

Allyson was slightly taken aback. "What are you talking about? I'm just kindly reminding you, but you suspect me."

Rosa said, "I know what you're talking about with attendance. We are all just workers. It's unnecessary to bring these things up. Did you never ask her to do these things?"

Allyson got stuck on it.

In fact, most people had taken advantage of the two-hour leave policy, especially those in higher positions. They had perfect attendance, including Rosa. It had become an unspoken secret among everyone.

And even if the company knew about it, they wouldn't say anything. After all, it was only two hours a month, not worth being too strict about.

But Allyson brought it up now. It was obvious that Allyson had a conflict with Gracelyn.

Allyson sighed and stopped pretending. "Alright, Rosa, we've known each other for so long. I won't beat around the bush. I just don't like Gracelyn. She's just an administrative personnel, and your department won't mind if she's gone, right?"

Allyson made herself clear. She wanted Rosa to find a way to dismiss Gracelyn.

Rosa picked up the coffee on the table and took a sip. She pondered for a moment before saying, "Although I don't know what issue you have with Gracelyn, there's no reason to dismiss her without cause. If you want to, I can transfer Gracelyn to your department. You can handle it yourself."

Allyson suddenly laughed. "You are not willing to be the bad guy. Okay, transfer her to my department. You don't have to worry about anything else."

When Gracelyn was working, her eyelids twitched. She occasionally glanced at the supervisor's office, where Allyson had been staying for a long while. Gracelyn wondered if they were discussing her matter.

Because of the attendance incident, Allyson had a grudge against her.

After about half an hour, Allyson finally came out of the office. As she passed by Gracelyn, she gave Gracelyn a meaningful smile.

Gracelyn's heart missed a beat when she saw that smile.

In the afternoon, when it was almost time to finish work, Rosa asked to see Gracelyn.

Gracelyn nervously came to the supervisor's office. Rosa was flipping through documents, and Gracelyn caught a glimpse of attendance sheets in her hand.

"Ms. Webley, what's the matter?"

Rosa closed the file and gave Gracelyn a businesslike smile. "There you are. Have a seat."

After Gracelyn sat down, Rosa spoke with a serious tone, "Gracelyn, here's the thing. The higher-ups proposed that our department has too many people, and you also know the company's current situation."

When Gracelyn heard this, her heart sank. Her ominous premonition came true.

"So, what do you mean, Ms. Webley?"

Rosa said, "I also think so. Actually, there's not much work in our department that requires so many people. Two people can handle all these tasks. But everyone has been with me for so long, and I'm reluctant to let anyone go."

Gracelyn didn't say anything, quietly waiting for Rosa to finish.

"So, I discussed it with other departments, and we decided to transfer some people from our department to others."

Gracelyn understood what Rosa meant. It seemed that Rosa wanted to transfer her to another department.

"Which department are you planning to transfer me to?"

After a moment of contemplation, Rosa said, "How about the Sales Department? They are short-staffed over there."

It was an expected answer.

The moment Rosa spoke, Gracelyn had already guessed what was going to happen. Rosa called her over either to dismiss her or to transfer her to Allyson's apartment.

Gracelyn forced a smile. "I will follow the company's arrangement."

Rosa smiled, "Although the Sales Department won't be as leisurely as the Administrative Department, as long you perform well, you will be well-paid. So, don't be discouraged. As a young person, you should strive more, and it will be a great opportunity for you to learn."

Listening to Rosa's pleasantries, Gracelyn maintained a smile and nodded. "I understand. I will live up to your expectations."
