Chapter 32 Patrick's New Girlfriend
Chapter 32 Patrick's New Girlfriend
Gracelyn and Jovanny went into the restaurant. She asked the receptionist, "Hello, we want to ask about a coupon."
The receptionist froze for a moment and looked at Gracelyn in surprise. "A coupon? I am sorry, we..."
Before she could finish, Jovanny showed her his phone screen. "This is my phone number. Please check."
The receptionist looked at the screen in a daze. It indeed had a phone number, and she quickly typed it into a computer.
Then the system showed he was a Black Gold VIP.
If a customer spent an average of 5000 dollars in the restaurant every year, he would become a Gold VIP. If the amount was 8,000 dollars, he would become a Platinum VIP. If the amount was 16 thousand dollars, he would become a Diamond VIP.
If a customer spent 35 thousand dollars a year for 5 consecutive years, he would become a Black Gold VIP.
Although the phone number indicated Jovanny was a Black Gold VIP, he had spent a lot more than 35 thousand dollars a year here. But Black Gold VIP was at its highest level.
"Do I have a 150-dollar coupon?" Jovanny asked.
The receptionist looked at him in a daze. He was expressionless, but she understood him anyway.
The receptionist quickly smiled and answered, "Yes. It's actually around 200 dollars."
Gracelyn was surprised and quickly asked, "When will it expire?"
The receptionist's smile turned stiff, but she tried to maintain it. "A year..."
As she answered, she peeked at Jovanny and found him frowning. So, she quickly changed his answer, "But the 150 dollars needs to be spent before tomorrow?"
Jovanny stopped frowning when he heard that, and the receptionist heaved a sigh of relief. It was so hard to please the rich.
Gracelyn said, "It's a good thing you told me about this, or it will be wasted."
Jovanny nodded with feigned seriousness. This was the first time that he felt it was hard to buy someone dinner.
"Can the 150 dollars be used all at once?" Gracelyn asked.
"Yes, even the 200 dollars can be used at once."
"I see. Alright, thank you."
Then Gracelyn smiled at Jovanny and said, "Let's find seats."
"Okay."
Gracelyn found a table by the window and looked around, saying, "So, this is what a fancy restaurant looks like. No wonder the dishes here are so expensive. I went to a restaurant, but it has limits on the coupons."
"Okay." Jovanny could only say, "Eat more. Don't waste the coupon."
"Of course, I will order a lot and pack up for Grandpa."
"Okay."
"Right, how much do we need to spend here to get a coupon?"
Jovanny was silent for a while and lied, "We will get half of every 200 dollars spent here."
Gracelyn did the math and found it was actually not expensive if that was the case.
While she was thinking about it, a familiar voice came from her left side.
"The betrothal gift and the house don't matter. I think if two people are in love, money isn't that important."
Gracelyn turned to where the voice came from and found Patrick. A woman was sitting opposite him. Gracelyn couldn't see her face. But judging from the woman's clothes and figure, she was fashionable.
The woman pushed her hair back and continued, "I agree. The feelings matter the most. I was just hoping to satisfy my parents, but now I think we might have a shot."
Patrick was handsome and dressed elegantly. His appearance could be misleading.
He smiled, "Is that so? Then perhaps we can try to date."
The woman thought for a while and asked, "Then why did you choose to have a blind date?"
"Because my parents are urging me to get married. I am doing this with the same purpose as yours."
Jovanny noticed Grace's gaze and also turned back to look. It turned out her ex was having a blind date with a woman.
The woman asked, "Did you have a girlfriend? I am surprised a quality man like you needs to have a blind date."
Patrick thought for a while before saying, "I had two girlfriends. I had one in college, and then we went to different cities. The second one was... Well, forget about it."
Patrick was good at convincing women. He didn't badmouth his exes to make himself look good. But he would express his dissatisfaction.
He had done it to Gracelyn before and convinced her.
The woman raised her eyebrows and looked interested. "Is it too personal to talk about?"
"No. I hurt her. I was poor and couldn't give her the life she wanted."
Patrick was belittling himself but made it sound like his ex was a gold digger. It would make him pitiful.
"I see."
Patrick said, "So, if two people have the same values, they can get along well. I am just an ordinary guy, and I just want to spend the rest of my life with the woman I love. Do you think I am weak for it?"
"How can it be? Nothing matters more than having a peaceful life. Besides, you are hardworking and have become a treasurer at such a young age. It says a lot about your abilities. I bet you will become somebody."
Gracelyn lost her appetite after hearing that. If she hadn't known Patrick's true colors, she would have believed him.
How could he lie through his teeth with such ease?
Jovanny also averted his gaze and said in a flat tone, "You have a bad taste in men."
Gracelyn pursed her lips and took a bite of the food. He was not wrong. She had actually dated that jerk Patrick.
But she still felt uncomfortable hearing it from Jovanny.
Patrick sensed something and looked at Gracelyn. Then his expression changed.
The woman noticed the change and looked back at Gracelyn, too. "What is wrong?"
Patrick sighed and answered, "She was my second girlfriend."
The woman sized Gracelyn up and noticed Jovanny who was much more handsome than Patrick. Then she understood why Gracelyn left Patrick.
"Aren't you going to say hello?"
"Forget it. I don't want to disturb her." Patrick shook his head and felt guilty, afraid Gracelyn would tell the truth about him.
But the woman stood up and walked to Gracelyn, saying, "Hi."
Gracelyn froze for a moment and looked up at the woman, confused. "Who are you?"
"Well, I am Patrick's girlfriend. I heard you were his ex, so I came to say hi." The woman smiled at Gracelyn.
The woman looked pretty and graceful. She had a good figure and struck people as a noble lady.
Gracelyn guessed so. The woman was called Bella Yannis, and her family ran a chain restaurant. She came from money indeed.
