My CEO Fiancée Buys Her Guy Assistant a Luxury Car Amidst “Struggling” Business

Chapter 8

Chapter 8

She interrupted me and sneered, "Alright, I get it. I'll restore your position in the company and give you some shares. Is that enough?"

"No need," I said.

I found it somewhat amusing and shook my head. "It's not because of that."

"Then what is it?" Rosalie asked, puzzled.

I didn't hide it from her anymore and said calmly, "Let's be frank. I heard everything you and Tyler said in the hotel today."

Rosalie's face froze.

"You followed me?"

"It was just a coincidence," I said.

But Rosalie clearly didn't believe me, looking at me suspiciously.

In the past, I probably would have tried to prove myself to her, but now, I didn't care at all what she thought. I went straight to the point: "Since you want to break up too, we're on the same page. Let's just end it."

"I won't take anything under your name. Let's part on good terms."

Now that everything was out in the open, I thought Rosalie would agree readily, but to my surprise, she hesitated.

"Felix, think it through. You're not young anymore. If you break up with me now, with your conditions, you might not find a partner as good as me."

"What I said at the hotel was just out of anger. If you can apologize to me, I don't necessarily want to break up with you."

"I'm not completely without feelings for you, you..."

Realizing she was trying to keep me, I felt a bit surprised.

She had threatened to break up with me many times before. Every time, it was me begging her, pleading for her forgiveness, and that's how we managed to stay together until now.

Wasn't breaking up what she wanted?

But then I realized what she was worried about.

Her company was about to go public. If news got out that she had abandoned her boyfriend at this time, it might damage the company's reputation.

"Don't worry, after we break up, if anyone asks, I'll just say it was an amicable separation. I won't mention anything about you and Tyler," I added.

Rosalie moved her lips, finally seeming a bit frustrated.

"We've had conflicts before, and you never made such a big deal out of it. Why are you so insistent this time?"

"Tell me the truth, do you have someone else?"

I couldn't help but frown.

Her suspicion was becoming unreasonable.

She knew very well that after getting together with her, to give her a sense of security, I had cut off contact with all other women. I even chose only male shopkeepers when going out to buy things.

But I couldn't be bothered to explain to her anymore. After thinking for a moment, I said, "You can think of it that way if you want."

Rosalie didn't say anything, finally getting up and going into the bedroom.

I couldn't quite gauge her attitude, not knowing if she had agreed or refused.

But she probably agreed, right?
