My CEO Fiancée Buys Her Guy Assistant a Luxury Car Amidst “Struggling” Business

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

It was getting late, and since Rosalie and I usually lived separately anyway, there was nothing inappropriate about it. I decided to stay for one last night and move out tomorrow.

That night, I asked my friend to help find a new place near the company. After packing up my things, I lay comfortably in bed for one last night of rest.

Early the next morning, after getting up, I was surprised to see Rosalie still there.

Usually, by this time, she would have already picked up Tyler on her way to the company. Why was she still here?

However, I noticed that her eyelids had a faint blue tinge, and she looked unwell, as if she hadn't slept all night.

After thinking for a moment, I still didn't ask.

Seeing me packing my things, her expression was odd. "What are you doing?"

"Moving out," I said flatly.

We had bought this house together back then, but I had said I would give it to her, so I had no intention of taking it back.

"You don't need to move out, there's enough room to live," Rosalie said hesitantly after a moment.

"We've already broken up, it's not appropriate to live together anymore," I replied.

After all, I didn't know when Tyler would move in.

Rosalie looked at me without saying anything.

I ignored her too, busy packing my luggage as if she wasn't there.

Rosalie stood nearby, lost in thought, occasionally coming over to lend a hand.

I was a bit confused. She had never helped me with anything before. And didn't she need to go to work?

But I didn't ask, focusing on my own tasks. Soon, I had finished packing my luggage.

It was just one suitcase.

As I was carrying the suitcase downstairs, Rosalie followed, picking up her car keys from the side. "Let me drive you."

"No need, just take care of your own business."

"I don't have anything to do today," Rosalie said, her attitude somewhat forceful.

It was always like this before. Once she decided to do something, she had to do it.

Not wanting to waste time on this matter, I didn't refuse anymore and followed her to the underground garage.

I opened the passenger door, about to get in, when I saw a human-sized teddy bear in the passenger seat, neatly buckled in with a safety belt. There was a tag on it that read "Tyler".

There was also a small line of text below.

"When I'm not around, let this doll keep Rosalie company."

Followed by a playful emoji.

Rosalie had probably forgotten about this too. Seeing it, her expression became somewhat embarrassed.

She had never let me ride in her car to work before.

Once when my car broke down and I wanted her to give me a ride, she got angry, saying I was being fussy and asking why I didn't just take a taxi.

At the time, I really thought she just didn't like me depending on her.

Turns out it was because she was afraid I would see this.

"I'll just take a taxi," I said, consciously trying to close the car door.

But to my surprise, Rosalie stopped me. She yanked the bear out of the passenger seat and threw it in the back, forcing a laugh.

"Young people can be childish, but he means well. I just didn't want to hurt his feelings."

I remained silent.

I had once given Rosalie a good luck charm to hang in the car, but she took it down after just a few days, saying it was troublesome.

Turns out she could be thoughtful and consider other people's feelings.

It's just that person wasn't me.
