My Sweet, Tyrant Lycan Mate

Chapter Twelve

Chapter Twelve

A Winner And A Secret

Lily’s POV

When I stirred from unconsciousness, I found my head resting on the Lycan King’s lap. We were still under the canopy and the fight had just ended.

The Lycan King looked down at me with indifference. His gaze was now contemplative as he looked at the men who stood at the field.

He’s probably trying to pick out the next new fighters.

I continued to lay my head on the Lycan King’s lap since he didn’t seem to mind. My eyes scanned the crowd. I wondered if my parents were there on the bleachers watching the carnage or if they did the right thing and still kept to themselves back home.

I noticed that I attracted the looks of all of the other alpha from various packs. Their faces were contorted to expressions of shock and disbelief. Their eyes darted from me to the Lycan King.

Hey, I’m just as shocked as you guys are…

It was then that Alpha Leo and a few of the elders of the Night Walker Pack approached us. I was about to sit up to show my respects but the Lycan King held down my shoulder.

“Your Majesty…” Alpha Leo bowed. “Some of the elders and I have been discussing things and, we don’t want to intrude, but well, we’re about the safety of our men.”

The Lycan King squeezed my shoulder. “And?”

Alpha Leo cleared his throat. “They need to rest, Your Majesty. They won’t be able to serve you if they’re injured and exhausted from fighting each other.”

“Let me think about it… No.” The Lycan King grinned. “How about you get those two men over there to fight. This conversation bores me.”

Alpha Leo looked over at the two that the king was referencing and I watched as his skin ran pale. He hesitated and it looked like he wanted to oppose the Lycan King.

It’ll be your last mistake…

Instead, Alpha Leo cleared his throat. “Alex, you and Brian are up next.”

I looked at the one he called Alex–a guy who was probably around my age. He also somewhat resembled Alpha Leo.

I wonder if that’s his son.

Alex looked at the other, probably Brian, with aggression in his eyes as the two approached the middle of the field.

I continued to lay on the Lycan King’s lap as I brought my knees to my chest. Yet another bloody battle that I didn’t want to spectate.

I just wanted all of this to be over with. The Lycan King might have found brutality and gore to be entertaining, but I sure as hell didn’t.

Suddenly, a howl pierced through the air as Alex shifted into his werewolf form. My eyes shot open as soon as I heard him. Brian soon followed and the pair began to fight again.

The entire field gasped in shock, not thinking for a second that this was going to happen. We all watched in awe–well me, in horror–as their fight intensified. Only one of them was going to make it out alive.

When Brian got knocked to the ground, Alex immediately lept for his throat. Alex’s teeth were just a few centimeters from ending Brian’s life.

We all held our breaths and after a few moments, Alex released his hold. Everyone collectively let out a sigh of relief, while the Lycan King let out a sigh of irritation.

“It would’ve been more interesting to see the boy do it, but I guess I’ll get to pick up where he left off.”

I looked at the Lycan King in horror while he laughed at me.

It was clear that Alex had won that fight–and his right to live. Several men rushed to the field and helped Alex to the benches, where women were at the ready with their medical kits.

Alex was drenched from head to toe with blood, as monstrous scratch marks tore open his once nice dress shirt and pants. The nurses did everything they could to help the injured man.

It was then that Alpha Leo had walked over to Alex with a vial of red liquid in his hands. After Alex took the shot, the cuts and bruises that peppered his fair, bloodied skin evaporated in a matter of seconds.

“I’ve never seen the power of lycan blood before… It’s amazing to see its effects in person.” I blurted out in awe.

The Lycan King let out another huff. When I looked at his face, he was glaring at Alex with disgust.

“What’s the matter? He won the fight, so he got some of your blood–”

He interrupted me. “That’s not my blood.”

“But it’s from a lycan and you’re the last one alive?”

The Lycan King looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “Who said I was the last lycan?”
