Chapter Twenty-Nine
Chapter Twenty-Nine
Chapter 29 –
Lily’s POV
There were several other checkpoints we had to pass after the first one, and it seemed like, the more we passed, the more angry Zack got.
“You know…” I was calm with my voice as I felt Zack’s irritation against my back. “You never did explain to me where we were going…”
When I looked up at Zack, his eyes remained forward. Taking a deep breath, he finally decided to give me some sort of answer.
“I decided it was time to relocate us to a new pack–the Star Holders. They live out west in a different, mostly remote city.”
“Why?”
Zack sighed. “After what happened with Isabella, I didn’t want to take the risk of staying there any longer.”
Did he think that Alpha Leo was going to resort to more drastic measures to get rid of me? After how Zack killed his son and the other three boys, it honestly didn’t surprise me that that could’ve been the case.
But then there was a matter of the other burning question in my mind.
“Zack…”
I looked up at him to see that he pressed his lips together tightly as if he didn’t want me to ask him any more questions. Letting out a sigh, I decided to stop asking him any for the time being.
We came upon another checkpoint–our fifth one–and I felt Zack’s body get tense against mine. As Cerberus came to another stop once again, I looked down at the guards. Fear was plastered all over their face.
“I… We… We need to see some identification, sir.” The guard avoided Zack’s gaze. “And ma’am,” he nodded his head at me.
As I was about to reach into my bag for my ID, Zack stopped me.
Zack reached into his pocket to pull out a wallet. Inside were two separate ID cards.
Handing it to the guard, he quickly scanned the cards and then handed them back to us. “L-let them through!” He shouted.
The gates before us opened and once again, like the last four times, we were free to go on with our travels. It made me wonder just what kind of city we were heading to with all of these checkpoints.
Cerberus walked on for a few more miles until we came across a motel. The place seemed a little rundown but from the looks of it, it was the only place we could stop to rest at. Across the street was a gas station–presumably the only place we could get food at.
We went to the gas station to stock up on snacks before heading over to the motel to rest for the night. We were lucky enough to see that the place also had a shower, too.
As for Cerberus, he walked behind the building and slept in the forests behind us, not wanting to be vulnerable in a place he wasn’t familiar with.
After we ate and showered, it was time to rest before having to continue on our way to the city of the Star Holders. We weren’t too far away.
As I was about to fall asleep, I felt Zack urgently grab my waist. His touch was so hot and I knew that it meant that the Fire Wolf was more agitated than usual.
“Lily…” Zack was pleading as sweat dripped down his face.
Before he said anything else, he pulled my body against his where my back was against his chest. He started to kiss my shoulder and my neck.
“Lily, please, I…” It sounded like each word Zack spoke, was causing him more pain.
Zack’s hands grabbed at my breasts as he started to massage them in a circular motion. He ground his hips against mine and I could feel his hardened length poke through his boxers.
I turned around and placed my hand on his cheek, nodding my head.
Without another word, Zack rolled himself on top of me, pinning me to the bed with his body weight. His kisses against my neck were rough and frantic. The Fire Wolf must have been burning inside him more than usual.
He stuck his fingers in my mouth before pulling out and going down to stick them in my panties.
He then swirled his tongue around my nipple, taking his hardened length out from his boxers and rubbing it against my entrance.
A moan escaped my lips as the warmth began to build in my chest. I wrapped my arms around his shoulders and rubbed my wet and aching heat against him.
“Ready for this?” Zack growled in my ear.
I bit down on my lip and nodded my head.
He then buried his length inside of me. I looked down as he disappeared inch by inch.
But this wasn’t a making love session. No, this was a full-on desperate fuck.
Zack’s pacing was unrelenting and merciless. He needed a release. The sounds of him panting were reminiscent of an animal. It was almost like the Fire Wolf was fucking me and not Zack.
Without even paying attention, Zack and I pressed our foreheads together. But it was in that instant that things went south. This mindlink was worse than the first.
The waves of pleasure were soon dominated by an unbearable hellfire that began to sear all of my body and not just my head. I closed my eyes from the pain.
However this time, it was like I was experiencing the flames of the Fire Wolf for myself, and not just looking at it from afar. My vision and body were soon consumed by the inferno of the unsatisfied Fire Wolf.
As I let out a cry of pain, Zack had just reached his climax, pulling out of me abruptly and breaking off the mindlink. I sat up on the bed and tried desperately to control my breathing as he went to the bathroom.
Tears welled in my eyes as I wiped them away with the blanket. When Zack came out of the back, he picked me up off the bed and placed me in the bathtub he had filled.
When I regained my composure, I looked up at Zack who was getting in the bathtub with me.
“Zack…” My voice was weak. “The Fire Wolf… he…”
“I know.” He sounded slightly less agitated than he did before. And his body was still warm, too.
“Please… tell me what’s going on.”
I was met with silence again.
Zack refusing to be open and honest with me was beginning to take its toll. I was in love with him.
But I knew that true love wasn’t supposed to be like that. It wasn’t supposed to be this confusing and full of hurt.
Does Zack truly love me…?
Once we were out of the tub and in bed, Zack pulled me into his arms and fell asleep. I turned around to look at his sleeping features, finding it hard to calm my mind and heart.
I hope you’ll trust me enough one day… Before it’s too late…
