My Three Elite Brothers Shattered After My Death

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

His fingers trembled as he swiped through our message thread.

The last texts were still from three days ago. The sight made Alexander's knuckles whiten around his phone case.

"Alex, please..."

Sophia's feeble voice barely registered before he pushed past her.

His polished Oxfords echoed through the marble hallway as he stormed toward the basement.

Alexander needed to see the truth with his own eyes.

"Playing the vanishing act now, Evelyn? As if you're the only sister we have!"

I trailed behind him, my expression glacial. Whatever familial bonds remained had frozen solid.

Each step he took cracked like a whip against the tiled floor.

The stench of decay hit us first. Though Alexander's face drained of color, he wrenched open the cellar door.

His voice dropped to subzero temperatures when he saw the empty space:

"Where is it?"

A maid scrubbing bloodstains flinched. "Y-you ordered its removal yesterday, sir. Said it was... contaminating the house."

Another servant approached hesitantly, cradling a familiar device.

"We found Miss Evelyn's phone in the corner, sir. It powers on now."

My breath hitched. Even with my heart encased in permafrost, hot tears escaped.

That phone held my final, desperate attempts at survival—dozens of unsent pleas blinking with red warnings as oxygen fled my lungs.

Alexander snatched it like a lifeline.

The passcode? His birthday, followed by Nathaniel's and Benjamin's.

"Stupid girl," he muttered, fingers shaking. "How did she expect to survive without—"

His voice cracked as the screen illuminated.

Our chat history exploded with notifications:

"Alex I can't breathe"

"The walls are closing in"

"Please big brother I'll do anything"

Alexander's knees buckled. The world tilted as he collapsed onto the bloodstained floor.
