Chapter 6
Chapter 6
She gave me a sympathetic frown. "I understand. College is scary, but I have faith in you, Eden. You'll do just fine."
Taking a seat at the kitchen island, I watched my mom cook bacon, her body bouncing back every time the meat popped and grease spattered from the pan. The smell of the food was making my stomach growl. Pulling the bacon from the pan, she turned to place it on a napkin in front of me and smiled at something over my shoulder.
"Well, look who's finally awake. Good morning Elliot and Zane."
My spine straightened and I blinked. Shit. I didn't know what to say or do. Last night was amazing, but I felt awkward now that I had to face Elliot. Had he told Zane what we did? Was he remembering last night as he walked up behind me?
The twins took their seats on either side of me andI lowered my head to
stare at my hands. I couldn't face him .not after what we did. "Morning, Pamela." They said in unison.
Elliot's elbow moved over to bump mine and he said, "Morning, Eden. Did you sleep well?"
There was humor in his voice and my cheeks flamed red. "Uh, yeah." I answered.
Mom laughed. "Actually, your little sister is nervous about college, which is coming up soon. Poor thing looks like she barely got any sleep at all."
Elliot chuckled beside me andI felt the color drain from my face. With a
voice as deep as midnight, he said, "I'dbe nervous as well. I couldn't get any sleep the night before I left for the Army. What about you, Zane?"
"Nope," Zane answered. "I didn't get any sleep either." Zane elbowed me from where he sat and my eyes opened wide. Holy shit! Did he know?
" See, Eden?" Mom asked. "Even your brothers were nervous before starting something new. It's natural to be afraid of something you've never experienced before. You need to stop worrying about it or you'll never get any sleep."
Although my mom was talking about college, I couldn't stop thinking about another thing I'd never experienced. Not until last night, at least. Elliot picked up on it too and teased, "New experiences are scary, but sometimes you just have to let them happen." His hand gripped my leg. " Sometimes you'll find out that you really like what happens."
My stomach rolled over on itself and I wasn't hungry anymore. Feeling sick, I shot up from my chair and ran towards the kitchen door.
"Eden? Where are you going?" Mom asked. "Breakfast is ready."
"Umm, I'm feeling a little sick, actually. I'm going to go back to my room and see if I can get some more sleep. I'll eat something when I wake up."
I didn't bother looking back, just quietly disappeared through the door to run up the stairs and lock myself inside my room. Once the door was shut, I slipped down on the wood to sit on the floor. I couldn't face Elliot .or Zane. I didn't know if Elliot had kept our secret.
. . .
The rest of the day went by on a blur. I attempted to fallback to sleep, but restlessness prevented me from getting any true shuteye. Thoughts of Elliot swirled in my head and all I could think about was him. I imagined the feel of his mouth on my body.the feel of his cock in my hand. Several times while I lay in bed, I reached down to touch myself, desperate to induce the same type of orgasm that he'd given me. I was so frustrated when I couldn't bring myself even the tiniest amount of pleasure.
In the afternoon, I finally braved going back out into the main house and I cringed when I walked through the living room. Elliot looked up at me instantly, a wicked smiling pulling across his lips. I wanted to talk to him, to know what he was thinking, but Zane was always in the same room.
Siting in the kitchen, I picked at a sandwich that I'd made for myself when
mom came waltzing in dressed in a beautiful blue pantsuit with a crisp white shirt underneath. "Well, there you are. I was wondering if you would sleep all day." I looked up at her and smiled.
"I feel better now that I got some more sleep."
"Good." She smiled. "I have work tonight, sweetheart, so I'll be out late. I might end up staying at my friend Eddy's house since she lives close by to the office. In fact, more than likely, that's what I'll end up doing. We have a huge project that needs to be finished by tomorrow night, so it looks like I'll be working through the midnight hours. I've left some money with your brothers so you kids can order a pizza for dinner, but you'll be on your own for breakfast. There's stuff in the fridge that you can cook."
