Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Tom pointed at me and sneered, "What evidence? You're just the daughter of his servant, always hanging around him. If you didn't steal his card, who else could it be? I suggest you give it back before things get ugly."
Heh. Daughter of his servant? Since when? He was the one begging me to be his girlfriend, practically throwing a tantrum when I refused.
I shot Liam a calm smile. "You say I stole your card, but you've got no proof. Maybe we should call the cops."
Panic flickered in Liam's eyes.
"Selina, we're classmates, come on. If you just give me back the card, I'll let this slide. And about those photos... I can take care of them for you."
Was that a threat? I blinked at him, all innocent.
"But it's too late for that."
Liam froze.
"What do you mean?"
Before he could say another word, several police officers walked up.
"Liam, Tom, Cathy, you're being detained for slander. Come with us."
They all stood there, stunned. Liam, realizing he was screwed, quickly turned to me with panic in his eyes.
"Selina, no, please, explain to them."
I just flashed him a sweet smile, took a step back, and pointed.
"Officer, it's them. They've been spreading lies about me."
That day, Liam and the others were hauled off by the cops, and the students had no clue what was going on. The post about me on the forum was taken down pretty quickly, but the way people looked at me… it felt different, off.
The next morning, as I was walking through the school gates, a woman rushed up and slapped me across the face.
"Selina, you heartless little bitch. My son has been so good to you. How dare you call the cops on him?"
Amy. I didn't even hesitate. I slapped her right back. No one had ever dared to do that to me.
Amy staggered back, her face twisting with fury.
"You little brat, how dare you hit me?"
I gave her a mocking smile.
"Who do you think you are? You've got some nerve coming at me like that."
Amy's face hardened, and she seemed to remember who I was. Her eyes narrowed, but then she puffed out her chest and said,
"I don't care what you think. You'd better get my son out of that mess. How could he be treated like that?"
"Give him back the card when he's out. Don't make him angry again."
What was she doing? Making demands like I owed them something? I couldn't believe this disgusting duo was still trying to get their hands on my money.
"Why should I give him anything?" I scoffed.
Amy puffed out her chest and gave me a look full of disdain.
"You've been played by my son for two years. Who else would want you? If you're smart, you'd better apologize and please him. Maybe he'll marry you."
It's 2024, lady. What are you even talking about? I clutched my chest, pretending to be horrified.
"Oh, no! I'll never get married again, will I?"
Amy's face turned beet red, and she pointed at me, trembling with anger.
"You stupid girl. Let's see who'd ever want you after you lose my son."
Two days later, Liam and the others were released. Since it was their first offense, they didn't face serious consequences, just some verbal scolding and an apology to me. But I wasn't letting them off the hook that easy.
For two years, Liam had been living large on my credit card, buying all kinds of luxury stuff. I had the housekeeper compile a list of all his spending.
"In the past two years, Liam spent around seven or eight million of my money, including all the gifts I bought for him. He has to pay me back."
I took him to court.
The day the court papers came through, Liam stood outside my villa with a loudspeaker, proclaiming his undying love for me.
