The Final Decision
The Final Decision
The morning sun shone through the curtains that they had forgotten to close last night. Beatrice squinted her eyes, then opened them slowly,
"What the fuck are you doing!"
she screamed when she found Luke fast asleep hugging her like she was a pillow.
Luke who was surprised by her scream immediately woke up, she was also surprised to see his hands and feet hugging Beatrice like that.
"I didn't do it on purpose! I swear to God!" said him as he removed his hands and feet from her.
Beatrice immediately got up from the bed and stood up straight, she pursed her lips in disgust, "You really are greedy! Isn't sleeping with your ex enough to make you happy?!" she babbled while covering her chest with both hands.
Luke snorted "What happened that night in Amsterdam was a mistake, don't think I'll do it to you again, you're not as sexy as you think!" he said as he walked into the bathroom. Beatrice sneered and jumped back onto the bed wanting to resume her disturbed sleep. But suddenly she heard a very loud bell ringing.
She walked lazily into the living room and opened the door with a sleepy face.
"You?"
In front of her stood Rebecca Lee the oriental woman with a very surprised face.
She swallowed hard,
"Hey there!" she greeted her nervously. 'What should I do?'
Not knowing what to say, she let her in.
"Luke is in the bathroom," she said without being asked.
Rebecca, who still didn't understand what was going on in that place kept staring at her with a suspicious and curious look.
"Who are you? So you pretended not to recognize Luke yesterday?"
she demanded, still in a standing position.
With an innocent face, Beatrice replied,
"Yeah, it was him who asked me to do that," she said with a short smile.
Rebecca narrowed her eyes,
"So you two live in the same room? Who the hell are you?"
In the midst of that tense conversation suddenly Luke came out of the bathroom with only a towel around his waist, he was surprised to find Rebecca standing at the connecting door between the bedroom and the living room.
"Hey, Beck it's not what you think okay? I'm lying to you, but I can explain..."
said him without moving from where he was standing.
Rebecca got really confused,
"I don't get it, what do you want? You proposed to me last night but in this room, you sleep with this woman!"
"Whoa whoa chill Rebecca or whoever you are!
Luke and I, we didn't do as you think! We did sleep together but in a literal means. We were sleeping not having sex or anything! You know what I'm trying to say right?" Beatrice interrupted them with an irritated expression, she rushed to the bathroom and went inside leaving Luke facing Rebecca alone.
"She is my traveling partner, we've been known each other for months,"
said Luke half lying.
Rebecca frowned,
"So you guys travel together and always sleep in the same room? Do you think I'd believe that nothing happened between you two?"
Luke cleared his throat, running out of excuses.
"Well we decided to sleep in one room to make things more pleasant, if we stayed in different rooms we wouldn't be able to talk all night! Besides I already treat her like my own little sister!" he kept trying to dodge.
"Why did you ask her to pretend to be a stranger?"
"I'm afraid that you'd be jealous,"
"Then what happened to you guys last night? Why did you choose to chase after her and leave me in that lobby alone?!"
"She was angry because I forgot to give her the access card, well that makes sense I would be angry too, I mean she had to wait a long time and slept in the lobby,"
"I saw you chasing her like you were afraid to lose her? Why? Do you like her?"
Luke held back his smile, Rebecca ate the bait.
He moved closer to her, putting his index finger to his lips, telling Rebecca to lower her voice, to make it look as if he didn't want Beatrice to hear their conversation.
"You know, um, I think I like her,"
he said quietly, deliberately provoking Rebecca's emotions.
He did it well because Rebecca looked angry,
"What do you mean?!"
"You asked me to marry you last night! Are you playing around with me? What? Is this a kind of revenge or something?"
He looked deeply at Rebecca,
"That's why Becky, let's get married, I can't always wait for you to finish playing around. Someone else might be able to take your place in my heart if you keep playing with me like that," he said with a pleading look.
"Three years, I let you move from one man to another, I love you too much that's why I can always take you back whenever you want, but now things are different, I want you to decide immediately.
Accept my proposal now or we won't be able to go back to how we used to be, you won't be able to come back to me whenever you want, I'm not your shield Becky..." said Luke with a very serious expression, he was tired of waiting for Rebecca to come back into his arms.
Rebecca was silent, she bit her lip. She loved Luke so much, wanted him so bad, but she wasn't done with her adventure yet.
"Luke, please, don't do this to me," she hissed as if she were a victim.
"Take your time Beck, I'll be waiting for your answer tonight. If you're done, please get out of here, I have to put on some clothes," said Luke, he refused to look into Rebecca's eyes, he opened the hotel room door, gently shooing her away.
With a sad face Rebecca walked out of the room, she really didn't know what to do. While in the bathroom Beatrice quietly eavesdropped on their conversation.
“He really is an idiot! How could he still accept that bitch back after being hurt so many times?!"
she muttered quietly feeling sorry for Luke.
