THE CEO'S FAKE WIFE

The Proposal

The Proposal

On a cold sunny morning, Beatrice looked at herself in the mirror, she was wearing a long floral A-line dress with ruffled sleeves that fit her perfectly.

"Watch your mouth, okay? Don't say something inappropriate, act gracefully like a princess," Leah reminded her over and over again because she was going to meet Luke's parents

She smiled a little,

"I know, but I'm really nervous now..." Beatrice said looking out the window, wringing her fingers.

Shortly after that, they gathered with Beatrice's family to rehearse the show they were going to perform that day. It was like a dream, in an instant they became a family of swindlers!

"I'm so excited to do this kind of thing, Bea!" screamed Beatrice's grandmother, who had always wanted to be a theater performer. She grimaced sadly.

In the midst of all the commotion, she closed her eyes, praying, hoping this day would pass quickly.

"Bea, my family has arrived," Luke appeared at Granny's bedroom door, where all her family was gathered. He smiled mischievously at her,

"Careful, my mother is worse than Snow White's stepmother," he teased, making Bea even more nervous.

The common room in the villa has been designed beautifully for a meeting of two families. Beatrice and Luke walked hand in hand with pounding hearts, they really look like a real couple!

Luke looked handsome in beige pants and a white shirt while Beatrice looked perfect in the same colored A-line ruffle dress. He took her hand as they drew near to the room where his family was waiting. Beatrice took a glance at Luke's hand in surprise.

In their seats, sitting in a row, Luke's father which looked stern, Luke's mother which looked beautiful and always smiling, and several others who were their close relatives.

"Oh God, Luke! You have good taste! Look, she's so beautiful!" shrieked Luke's mother cheerfully. Beatrice glanced at Luke questioningly, she remember he said his mother was very mean and rude, but she turned out to be very friendly and kind.

The next few hours they spent getting to know each other, Beatrice's father and Luke's father seemed to be chatting warmly, of course, her father had prepared his acting skills to make him look like a great importer, even though he was a bankrupt importer, who lost millions of dollars in just a few years.

The funniest thing was granny, she happily acted like an aristocratic granny which managed to make Luke's grandmother feel a bit intimidated.

In the evening they held a formal proposal ceremony with clothes that had been made as uniforms for each family. Beatrice becomes very emotional and felt like crying all the time, whether she was so happy or even sad!

They were standing across from each other a little awkwardly.

"Remembering when we first met, I don't think I would have thought that I would get married so soon. But this kind of thing is a secret from God that we can't understand at all. I could remember very well, seeing your beautiful face at Schiphol Airport, at that time you were ordering coffee and I ventured to approach you," Luke opened his speech very sweetly, people who heard would think it was all real. Yet their first meeting at Schiphol Airport was very far from what he had described.

"Starting from that day, we shared our dreams together, surprisingly in my life, I have never found someone who really suits me like you, even we both dream of getting married here in Positano," he continued while looked at Beatrice who was standing in front of him and was trying hard not to burst out laughing.

"There are so many things in common between us that it scares me that if we are apart we will never be destined to meet again. So that night in Paris, I knelt before you, asking you to be my companion in life in good and bad, health and sick..." he took a deep breath before continuing.

Beatrice's heart was beating wildly as if she was really being proposed by her true love.

"Tonight I want to do it one more time, in front of all our family, so, Beatrice Miller, will you marry me?" Luke's gaze pierced her, causing her to feel touched for some reason. Tears welled up in her eyes, making the others tear up too. Even Leah, who clearly knew about their contract marriage, burst into tears.

"Yes, I will," Beatrice answered quietly, Luke thought Beatrice's cries were part of the scene she was playing. But actually, she got emotional for real, she was about to get married and letting go of her single life! It doesn't matter if that was a lie.

Meanwhile, Luke's mother was also in tears. In just a few hours she was already in love with ers future daughter-in-law. Plus they have a lot in common in their taste of fashion, allowing them to chat together for hours on end.

It seemed that the night had all gone smoothly, even Luke's father who was suspicious at first slowly began to believe that his son had really found his soul mate and their marriage was real.

"Wow! You should be able to win an Oscar with your romantic speech earlier! If only they knew what happened at Schiphol Airport, and also the pepper spray tragedy! Oh God, Hahahaa it feels weird!" Beatrice said as she and Luke were chatting alone in their room.

Luke smiled,

"Not everything I said was a lie," he said, taking off his shoes. Beatrice frowned, "What do you mean?" asked her cluelessly.

"Nothing, I'm really tired now, tomorrow is a big day!" Luke didn't want to explain, he threw his body onto the bed without changing his clothes.

Beatrice sneered,

"What? Okay, fine, I'm going to Leah's room now, I'll sleep there," she said, but Luke's hand grabbed her before she could even take a step forward.

She turned to look at Luke, who had his eyes closed, but his hand was still holding hers.

"Just sleep here please!" said him in a sleepy voice.

Beatrice's face wrinkled with a question mark, "Why? I need to talk to Leah!" she said but made no attempt to take Luke's hand off hers.

"I'm used to sleeping next to you," Luke muttered incoherently, making Beatrice put her ear closer to his face,

"What did you say?" she asked, frowning.

In a sudden move, Luke let go of her hand a little bit rudely,

"I don't want to wake up late tomorrow! You have to wake me up that's why you have to sleep next to me! Don't go anywhere!" he grumbled.

Beatrice pursed her lips in disgust, then climbed onto the bed and lay down beside him. Not long after that, their eyes slowly closed and soon both of them fell asleep comfortably...
