THE CEO'S FAKE WIFE

Stormy Day

Stormy Day

Beatrice was shocked when she saw an SMS notification from the bank that there was a money transfer of twenty thousand dollars from Luke's account.

She jumped for joy in her room, it was two o'clock in the afternoon. It's good that Luke kept his promise to give her a monthly transfer just like any other husband and wife. She laid down on the bed, thinking about how she was going to spend her first month's allowance.

But for some reason her mind was on Luke, she felt it was unfair for being unkind to him, even though he was such an asshole but he had kept his promise to provide facilities and pocket money for her.

"Ah, just let him go with that oriental lady, I don't care if she has his heart, the important thing is that I get his money, at least right now..." she said as she got up from her slumber.

She swiftly headed to the kitchen, intending to cook something for him, because they haven't eaten anything since breakfast.

She opened the refrigerator and took out the ingredients. She chose to cook chicken soup and cakes, hoping Luke would like it. Struggling, she mixed the spices, but for some reason the soup tasted very strange, and the cakes were too salty.

She stomped her foot, compelled to throw away all her cooking before Luke saw it, but it was too late.

"What are you doing?" asked him when he saw Beatrice was stomping her feet repeatedly.

Beatrice's face immediately turned red, she was silent when he approached and saw the chicken soup and cakes up close. Luke's hungry stomach made him eat the cake which looked very tempting right away, Beatrice didn't have time to prevent it because his movement was too fast.

"Shit! It's too salty!!" Luke slapped the cakes from his mouth, then took a quick sip of chicken soup which he immediately sput it back into the sink.

He looked at Beatrice strangely,

"What are you cooking?" asked him surprised because the taste of her food was all terrible.

She pursed her lips,

"I was going to cook for our lunch, but I don't know why it tastes like that," she said sadly. She had cooked sincerely and was happy because she had just received a transfer from his 'husband' but she failed her own pan.

"Hmmm, watch out, let me cook," said Luke, telling Beatrice to shift. Beatrice hastily stepped aside with a gloomy face. Feel like a failure to be a paid wife.

"What do you want me to cook?" asked Luke while opening the refrigerator.

"Um, grilled chicken with mushroom sauce and sauteed spinach!" Beatrice exclaimed reflexively, she had really wanted to eat that food since days ago.

Luke did not answer, but his hand moved to grab the ingredients from the refrigerator.

"Look at how to cook professionally!" he said, he began to wash the chicken in the sink while Beatrice was sitting on the stool and observed all of his movements. Amazed.

"But I can cook pasta! It's done!" she exclaimed as the electric stove made a beeping sound, a sign that the pasta was cooked.

Luke glanced at the electric stove located not far from him. For some reason, he felt suspicious and did not believe in Beatrice's ability to cook anything.

After he finished putting all the spices onto the chicken breast, he opened the pan on the electric stove and scooped the pasta slowly.

"Jesus Bea, what is this? An overcooked pasta?" said Luke while showing the pasta that looked very soft.

Beatrice covered her face, she was so embarrassed that she felt like running away to her room. Luke was holding back laughter, the thing he likes the most was intimidating her.

After the food was ready, they sat opposite with two plates of grilled chicken in front of them.

"Enjoy the magic!" Luke exclaimed before shoving the chicken into his mouth, making Beatrice sneer in annoyance.

Curiously she shoved the chicken into her mouth and she was surprised by how it tasted.

"Wow, you really can cook!" she exclaimed while stuffing a big mouthful of spinach.

"I used to cook myself when I was studying at Oxford! You should take a look at me as an example, I'm rich and independent! While you, you're poor and you can't do anything," said Luke casually.

"Oh shut up!" Beatrice snapped while pinching Luke's arm tightly, making him moan loudly.

Just as they were arguing and teasing each other, the sound of the doorbell stopped them. they looked at each other, then they rushed to the monitor.

On the monitor screen, Luke's mother was seen standing, smiling at the camera. Luke and Beatrice looked at each other and suddenly realized something.

"Gosh, our room!" she shouted which immediately made Luke glare as well.

They ran quickly to Beatrice's room,

"Take your things to my room! I'll move this photo of you!" he commanded as he climbed onto the bed and tried to lift the large frame decorated with Beatrice's face. While Beatrice had run to carry some of her belongings to Luke's room and stuffed them into the closet, some of her things were displayed so that they could be seen properly.

After that they locked Beatrice's room, then the two of them ran to open the door panting.

"Sorry, Mom!" she greeted her mother-in-law as the door opened.

Luke's mom looked at Beatrice and Luke alternately then laughed while covering her mouth,

"Gosh, what are you guys doing? Am I disturbing the process of making grandchildren, huh?" she joked which immediately made Beatrice and Luke look at each other and held back laughter.

Luke's mom stepped into the Penthouse, her eyes scanned the room, then looked at the walls for something.

"What are you looking for, Mom?" asked Luke nervously.

"Why don't you put your wedding photos in this house? Have you framed them?" she asked.

Beatrice and Luke looked at each other,

"I forgot about it, we're still in honeymoon mode," Luke squirmed as his hand pulled Beatrice's waist and bring her closer to him. She smiled shyly at Luke's mom, supporting Luke's acting. And they did it, Luke's mom looked very happy to see them.

"Okay, I'm going to talk about the wedding reception," she said and sat on the sofa.

"Another celebration, I think yesterday was enough, right, baby?" Luke looked at Beatrice who was standing next to him, they were very close, only a few inches away.

Suddenly Luke felt something strange when he saw Beatrice's moist lips up close. His thoughts flew as he kissed her on the lips for the first time in Bruges.

Somewhat nervously Beatrice replied,

"Yeah, I don't think we need a reception anymore," her hand released Luke's hand which was warm in his hand, she didn't want to arouse another strange feeling in her heart.

Luke's mom snorted,

"Nonsense! There must be a reception! Well, you've accepted it, it's all right! I will arrange it for you!" she said, making her in-law bit her lip nervously.

Beatrice was afraid that her disguise will be exposed if she held a big reception attended by many people. What if someone recognized her? It could end the history of the Miller family incognito! What was clear was that before that happened, she must make sure that Luke has paid her father's debt.
