No I'm Not Jealous
No I'm Not Jealous
At 8:00 pm, Beatrice was already at the Penthouse. She looked around the Penthouse, it was so quiet, it seemed that Luke had not come home yet. With uncertainty, she went into her bedroom to take a shower and change clothes.
Finished with the bathroom, she came out of the room and moved to the kitchen to make a cup of hot chocolate. She sat on the couch in front of the TV, watching some random drama series. Actually, she could just watch it in her room but she wanted to wait for Luke to come home, to give him a chance, to tell the truth.
Until she finished watching six episodes of the series that she enjoyed it, Luke had not yet appeared. Feeling hungry, she went to the kitchen, looking for food. She found instant ramen and cooked it excitedly.
She sipped her noodles with pleasure, she purposely added a lot of chili and pepper to keep her eyes awake. Right when she felt her tongue burnt, the Penthouse door opened. Luke walked in with a coat that was no longer worn, and his shirt looked unbuttoned it made Beatrice think that he had just done something with Rebecca.
"What are you eating?" asked Luke as he threw his body on the sofa, right next to her. "Instant noodles," she answered shortly. Luke turned to look into the bowl without saying a word, he grabbed it from Beatrice's hands and eat greedily. Seconds later, "Huh huh!" he immediately put down the noodle bowl, and grabbed the glass filled with water in Beatrice's hand. While beside him Beatrice was puffed out her cheeks holding back a laugh.
"Why is it so spicy?" scolded Luke with a red face. Beatrice sneered, "It's my Ramen, it's up to me to make it spicy or not," she replied as she put the empty glass back on the table.
"So how was the handover ceremony?" she asked, her eyes straight to the TV screen, pretending she didn't really care about that ceremony.
"Fine, everything went smoothly," said Luke briefly, just like Beatrice, his eyes also straight to the TV screen. "Ohhh that's good, so you were at the office all day?" she asked again, trying to provoke Luke to confess.
"Of course, where should I be?" he answered casually. Beatrice sighed heavily, she feel disappointed that Luke chose to lie to her.
"Where have you been today?" asked Luke as he took out his cell phone from his pocket and read the incoming message.
"Meeting Leah," she said as she cleaned up the bowls and glasses.
"Where?" asked Luke still busy typing on his cell phone. "At Gustoso Italian Kitchen!" she answered, then left for the kitchen, leaving Luke who was looking up at her immediately, "Gustoso Italian Kitchen?!" he whispered, somewhat surprised.
Beatrice snorted as she washed the dishes, "Liar! Evil liar!" she grumbled in annoyance, she thought Luke couldn't hear it but when she turned around, he was already standing behind her, "What did you say?" asked him with his typical annoying face.
"Nothing," she said as she placed the bowl and glass on the shelf. She was just about to walk into the room when Luke stood in her way. "Is there anything you want to ask?" asked him while looking at Beatrice sharply, making her a little embarrassed.
She shook her head, "Nothing, get out of my way!" she answered with a frown on her face. "You saw me in the Gustoso Italian Kitchen, didn't you?" he was very sure that Beatrice had seen him with Rebecca in that restaurant.
At first, Beatrice intended to lie and pretend that she didn't see him or Rebecca, but she was provoked by herself to see his reaction. Would he tell her the truth?
She looked him right in the eye, "Yes Luke, I saw you earlier accidentally, not that I followed you or something," she made her face as normal as possible so that Luke wouldn't think she was jealous.
Luke's face was unreadable, he couldn't say any word.
"Excuse me," she said asking Luke not to get of the way.
When she was about to walk into the room, he grabbed her arm, making her stop.
"Don't get me wrong, I just had lunch with her," said him as if he needed to explain it to her.
Beatrice frowned deeply, "Even more than lunch is okay for me, The contract that says we can't have sex with other women or men while we're still in marriage is no longer valid, you've violated it from the start, so I think there's no any problem now," she said. She let go of Luke's hand and went to her bedroom, leaving him standing alone, dumbfounded.

The morning after exercising, she sat in the Penthouse garden, she remembered Leah's words telling her to find other activities so as not to focus on Luke which would only make her fall in love with him deeper and deeper.
So far, she has only been busy being a freelance writer, which she recently left because she was bored. She was wondering if she had any other skills that could become her income source.
She kept thinking as she walked back to the elevator that would take her back to the Penthouse, looking for ideas for productive activities she could do. Then suddenly a brilliant idea popped up in her mind.
Beatrice has been fond of women's fashion for a long time, she was also quite good at drawing sketches of clothes, at least she won several competitions to draw clothes sketches in fashion magazines last year in order to get the latest mobile phone as the main prize.
Her face was happy again, Yes! She knew what she wanted to do, she will work hard to become a top fashion designer in New York! What's the point of having a rich husband? You have to squeeze his money till it dry! If his love was impossible to get, at least she has to be smart about getting his money! Smart girl!
"Luke!" she yelled loudly, looking for Luke as soon as she entered the Penthouse. Luke who just came out of his room in his working outfit looked surprised, he thought Beatrice was still mad at him, but it turned out she was fine, which meant she wasn't jealous at all. There was a very subtle sense of disappointment running through his heart, he was expecting otherwise.
"Why are you yelling at me? Do you think we're living in the forest or something?" said Luke irritably, his hands skillfully wearing the tie on the collar of his white shirt.
Beatrice stood in front of Luke with a cheerful face, "I need you to invest your money!" said her shamelessly.
Luke sneered, "What now? I don't have any money, I was just sitting on my CEO chair, my dad hasn't given me access to the bank," he replied, lying, of course, he thought Beatrice was stupid and naive.
Beatrice sighed, "I want to start a fashion business to keep me busy! Do you want to see me wasting my time in the house every day?" she said, sulking. Luke snorted, "What do you know about fashion? It will be a waste of money!" he mocked as he walked into the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and poured a glass of orange juice.
"I'm good at making fashion sketches! You won't believe it but I'm pretty good at it!" begged her while following Luke wherever he go. "Is that so? You don't look like someone who could draw a sketch," said him, his hand reaching for the car keys, ready to go.
She chased after him, "Seriously, I can design clothes! I also have a good sense of fashion! You just need to admit it!" raved Beatrice while still following Luke to the door.
Unexpectedly, Luke stopped and turned to her.
"Okay fine, just give me your business plan, I'll check it out tonight at dinner time," he said while staring at Beatrice's happy face.
"Yes! Thanks, husband!!" she shrieked and then reflexively hugged Luke tightly, making his face reddened nervously.
