Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Nadia had been spoiled by me for so many years. This was the first time I had ever driven her away. She was both angry and anxious.
After pondering for a while, she seemed to have a sudden realization.
"I get it. You're still angry that I helped Kieran with his treatment, right?"
"I've already explained. Kieran and I are innocent. Why won't you believe me?"
I gave her a long, deep look. The mockery and derision in my eyes made Nadia inexplicably afraid.
Not wanting to waste more words with her, I directly tossed my phone to her.
Some indecent sounds came from the phone. On the screen, Nadia and Kieran were embracing and kissing passionately, their gazes intertwined as they made love.
The camera had recorded their shameful acts in perfect detail. I wanted to see how she could still deny it.
"It's not like that. We were just confused that day," Nadia said, clearly losing her confidence, her voice growing weaker.
"It was only that one time. We ended things cleanly after that."
A pale, mocking smile tugged at my lips. Since I left, they had spent several days and nights together in what used to be my room. They said it was for treatment, but it only took one day for them to end up in bed. How could I believe anything she said now?
Seeing my completely indifferent expression, as if she was just a stranger to me, Nadia knew I was truly angry this time.
She nervously grabbed my hand, squeezing so hard it was like she wanted to dig into my flesh.
"Nash, you have to believe me. I love you. I hid this from you because I was afraid you'd overthink things."
"I don't love Kieran. Otherwise why would I have agreed to be with you?"
Nadia carefully observed my expression, just like all the times before when she had done something wrong.
"It's you who's in the wrong. How could you have people investigate me? You don't respect me at all."
"Let's just say we were both at fault. Can we not bring this up anymore? We'll get married after you recover."
She actually thought there was still a chance to salvage this.
I laughed inwardly. It turns out she had never taken anything I said seriously, not even breaking up.
According to our agreement, we should have been married long ago. But she kept postponing it again and again.
I didn't understand before, but now that Kieran was back, all her behavior made sense.
She had just been waiting for her true love. In her eyes, I was nothing more than a backup plan and a lapdog.
"There's no need. It wouldn't be right for me to get in the way of you two lovebirds."
"Besides, we've already broken up. Please have some self-respect, Miss Brown."
Nadia's expression nearly crumbled. She looked at me, flustered and nervous.
Kieran couldn't hold back anymore. He rushed in from outside, pointing at me and cursing.
"Nadia, don't beg him. Marry me instead. Trust me, I can give you a better life."
I closed my eyes in irritation, not wanting to look at this disgusting couple anymore. But Nadia thought I was jealous and instantly regained her confidence.
"Nash, I'll give you one last chance. Come back to me and I'll pretend none of this ever happened."
I directly called for a nurse to kick them out.
To prevent her from coming back to find me, I quickly transferred to a different hospital.
As soon as I recovered, I flew back to my hometown.
