Wifey’s Best Friend Knocks Her Up

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

This time I obediently followed my parents' arrangements and took over management of a subsidiary company under the family business to gain experience.

In less than six months, I led the team to secure a multi-million dollar project and establish long-term cooperation with the clients.

The previous business partners also found me to discuss new projects.

Looking at me as if I had been reborn, one partner sighed with emotion as we chatted for a long time.

"It's a good thing we didn't continue working with Nadia's company."

His expression was one of relief. Right after they terminated their partnership with Nadia, her company's products were exposed for substandard quality. In just half a year, they had lost several big orders.

Multiple partner companies were demanding refunds, leaving Nadia in a mess.

She tried many times to get away to come find me, but she simply couldn't leave.

"I felt back then that Nadia's business model wasn't working, but your abilities were so outstanding that I continued the partnership. Now it's clear there were problems."

I knew very well that Nadia's management philosophy had been problematic for a long time. She didn't focus on product development and only engaged in price wars, resulting in extremely high return rates.

I had brought it up with her before, but she didn't care at all. The more I asked about it, the more impatient she became.

"If you're so capable, why don't you be the CEO then?"

"You're just a sales manager. Do your job within your capabilities. You think you understand how to run a company better than me?"

Unable to argue with her, I could only strictly control production behind the scenes, even willing to lose money to improve quality.

Now that I had left and Kieran had taken over, he didn't care about quality at all and only wanted to make money, directly accelerating the exposure of the company's problems.

No longer thinking about these things, I sent off the business partner and hurried to a famous coffee shop here.

I was going on a blind date arranged by my family. The other person was a career-oriented businesswoman who had no expectations for love and just wanted to find someone to marry to appease her family.

As it happened, I no longer believed in love either.

We chatted for a month and confirmed we got along well before agreeing to meet in person.

I arrived at the cafe early. When Emma saw me, her eyes lit up with pleasant surprise.

"You didn't tell me you were so handsome."

Suddenly being complimented like that made me feel a bit nervous inside. My face flushed slightly.

When I was with Nadia, she would only put down my looks, saying I wasn't good enough for her. Over time, I became more and more insecure about my appearance.

I could only work harder and harder, hoping to have value in her eyes.

Being suddenly praised by a beautiful woman, I just felt shy.

"It's been a long time since anyone said that to me."

She looked at me in surprise for a long while, then suddenly broke into a smile.

She told me not to put myself down and invited me to taste the coffee. We chatted about everything from coffee flavors to company building, finding we were surprisingly compatible.

Just as we were getting into an engaging conversation, a cup of coffee was suddenly thrown in my face. Although I reacted quickly, my carefully prepared suit was still ruined.

Nadia had appeared out of nowhere, her face full of fury.

"Nash, how dare you cheat on me!"

Nadia was furious to the extreme, pointing at my nose and cursing viciously.

She then tried to attack Emma, which finally made me snap. I shoved her away forcefully.

"We broke up long ago. If you want to make a scene, go find Kieran. Don't come here acting crazy."

I pushed her away and her waist hit the table. The pain immediately brought tears to her eyes.
