Back to the Day of the Plane Crash, I Have My Fiancée Save Her True Love First

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Lily glared at us, eyes wide with disbelief. "Why?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Why? Isn't it obvious? Your precious Alex is right there beside you. Shouldn't you be happy?"

Lily's face shifted, panic flickering in her eyes, then shock. She knew it, I knew it—we both knew the truth now.

Grandma Taylor, seeing the tension, spoke up. "Alex, this is our family's fault. Don't worry. When you marry Samantha, all my shares will go to both of you."

I turned to Grandma Taylor, giving her a warm smile. "Thank you, Grandma. By ten tomorrow, I'll have someone announce the news."

With that, Samantha and I left the Taylor house, but I didn't expect Lily to follow us.

"Alex, I can explain. Back then, I…" she started.

I turned around, getting into Samantha's car and rolling down the window just enough to toss one last jab her way. "If you regret it so much now, maybe you should've cherished him more back then."

The window slowly rolled up, and Samantha squeezed my hand. "You don't need to waste any more time on her. She's not worth it."

"You're right," I said, smiling as I squeezed her hand back.

Samantha and I spent a quiet, sweet day at a villa in the suburbs. The next morning, I was back at work, focused on the City A project.

In the past, despite surviving the chaos, I hadn't been able to lock down the project. Lily had taken it without a fight and doubled her assets in the process.

But this time, there was no way I was letting it slip through my fingers.

As I worked, Alex showed up at my office.

"Alex, Lily really needs this project. Can't you…?"

"No," I interrupted him, not even hesitating.

In the past, I had been too naïve, thinking that maybe they had some innocence left. But if I hadn't gathered the evidence and threatened Lily with a divorce, who knows how much longer she would've tortured me.

The moment I tried to divorce her, she turned things around, she tried to stab me, set the villa on fire, and blamed Alex. But she made the decisions. She was the one pulling the strings. I had nothing to do with it.

I had no intention of involving him in my business anymore, so I had him thrown out.

Meanwhile, Lily didn't stop. She called me relentlessly, day after day.

After blocking countless numbers and finally threatening to call the cops if she didn't stop, Lily finally gave me some peace... for a while.
