Married to the Billionaire by Chance

Chapter 25 Afraid You'll Suffer

Chapter 25 Afraid You'll Suffer

After chatting with Brandon for a while, Gracelyn returned to her room. She tossed and turned on the bed, unable to sleep.

Jovanny hadn't come back yet. She didn't know if they settled everything down.

Just as Gracelyn was thinking, the bedroom door was suddenly pushed open. She sat up from the bed.

It was Jovanny who came back. He was wearing a black shirt that was eye-catching under the light.

"You're back. How ... how is it?"

Jovanny rolled up his cuffs and pulled out the desk chair. He sat on the chair and stared at Gracelyn as if he was negotiating with her.

Gracelyn became nervous.

"We've settled it in private. The compensation is 25,000 dollars."

"That much?"

"Well." His expression still didn't change much. She couldn't tell if he was angry. He said, "The problem is how I can go to work after my car has been towed away?"

"Well..." Gracelyn bit her lip. "I'm sorry. I wouldn't have let you borrow the car if I knew about it."

"Save your apology now. We need to solve the problem."

He said before that the car was bought on a loan. If he suddenly had a new car, Gracelyn would definitely be suspicious.

Jovanny's biggest headache now was that he didn't have an excuse to use his car.

"That car owner wants 25,000 dollars, and it isn't negotiable?" Gracelyn thought of what Laurie said. She started to feel embarrassed again.

"He asked for 50 thousand dollars and reduced it to half after the negotiation. Even with insurance, it would be around 16 thousand dollars."

Gracelyn rubbed the tip of her nose, suddenly not knowing what to do.

She racked her brains and suddenly had an idea, "Shall I ask you to do something?"

"Say it."

Gracelyn thought for a while and said, "I owe Brandon 16 thousand dollars for the house. I'll discuss it with him and let him sell it to us for 70 thousand dollars. In this way, they won't compensate the car owner.

"As for the remaining 8,000 dollars, I will buy an electric scooter and take you to work every day. If you can't accept it, I will pay you back when I earn enough money."

Jovanny was slightly taken aback. "Electric scooter?"

"Yes. The electric scooter is awesome. It doesn't get stuck in traffic, and it runs fast. Then the house... Let's say you've paid 50 thousand dollars for it. We can get a notarization or draw an agreement just in case of divorce..."

Jovanny stared at her while Gracelyn was chattering. In fact, he didn't listen to a word. He just heard the word "divorce".

Jovanny suddenly interrupted her. "You have calculated so clearly to prepare for divorce?"

Gracelyn's voice stopped abruptly. She stared blankly at Jovanny. He frowned slightly and seemed a little displeased.

After a while, she whispered, "I'm afraid you will suffer."

Jovanny's brows relaxed a little. "As long as Brandon agrees, I have no objection."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Jovanny still appeared calm. Gracelyn suddenly felt that he had such a good temper. He was not angry when his car was towed away.

Gracelyn finally breathed a sigh of relief. She smiled and said, "Thank you. By the way, is your money enough for the compensation?"

"I borrowed some from a friend. That's enough."

"Your friend is so kind. Don't worry. I will pay it back with you."

Jovanny suddenly wondered if Gracelyn was stupid. She said that he paid 50 thousand dollars for the house, and now she planned to pay back the money with him.

She never did the calculations right. Was she simply stupid? She wouldn't let him suffer but was willing to suffer herself.

For the first time, Jovanny doubted Gracelyn in terms of judging character.

But she could have heard something about him from Philip and acted to be kind in front of him.

Jovanny was suspicious because he had seen this kind of woman too much.

This kind of woman pretended not to know his identity and promised to share the joys and sorrows with him. But they had their own calculations in mind.

The most unpredictable thing in this world was the human heart.

The conversation had come to an end. Gracelyn was ready to face Jovanny's anger, but she didn't expect the problem to be resolved so calmly.

She couldn't tell what mood she had.

"Well, go to bed early. I'll go buy an electric scooter after work tomorrow. In the morning, I'm afraid you have to take the bus."

She could understand Jovanny's sense of dignity. Otherwise, the first thing he did after coming back wouldn't have been taking out a loan to buy a car.

Taking the bus was really embarrassing for him.

"Have a nice sleep." Jovanny stood up and left the bedroom with a heavy heart.

Gracelyn thought he was depressed about the car, so she ignored him.

When Gracelyn woke up in the morning, she found Jovanny sitting on the sofa with his arms folded and his eyes closed.

Did he sleep on the sofa all night?

Gracelyn felt a little sorry. She took the key and went downstairs to buy breakfast.

He didn't eat eggs. Gracelyn didn't have time to make breakfast, so she bought some bread and two cups of coffee.

The bread was enough for them.

After returning home, Jovanny just came out of the bathroom. Gracelyn raised the breakfast bag in her hand. "It's time for breakfast."

Jovanny glanced at the bag in her hand. "Did you buy it?"
