Married to the Billionaire by Chance

Chapter 26 Go Out With Her

Chapter 26 Go Out With Her

Gracelyn was slightly taken aback. She quickly explained, "I've got no time to cook anything else. This diner is very clean, so you can rest assured. I will prepare the ingredients in advance tonight and make breakfast for you tomorrow."

Jovanny didn't say anything. He came to the dining table and sat down.

Gracelyn took out all the breakfast she bought, including bread, milk, and coffee. She handed over a piece of bread to him.

"Try it. I used to go to the diner for breakfast when I lived alone. They have been open for eight years, and their business is very good. Every time I went late, the bread would be sold out..."

Jovanny lowered his head and quietly bit the bread while listening to her insignificant daily life.

She seemed to be less when facing Jovanny. She was willing to share some daily matters with him.

But surprisingly, Jovanny didn't feel bored.

Anyone familiar with him knew that he hated listening to other people's craps.

"How is it?" Gracelyn asked.

"It's okay." He replied briefly.

It tasted neither good nor bad. But he wouldn't die anyway.

Gracelyn couldn't help laughing. She picked up another slice for him. "Have some more, and we'll go out after the breakfast."

Jovanny's hand trembled either for the piece of bread or because he would go out with her.

He ate so slowly. It was the first time Gracelyn saw someone eating like this. Normally, people chewed the bread for a while and then swallowed it.

Jovanny chewed it very slowly. It took him a long time to swallow it.

Gracelyn sighed in her heart. Jovanny was really like someone who had been abroad.

After almost half an hour, Jovanny finished his breakfast. Gracelyn had been watching videos for a long time.

"Have you finished? Then let's go. I have checked the route for you just now. To get to your company, you can take the No. 135 Bus to Goose Street. The subway station is on the right of the bus stop. Take Line 2, and you will be there in eight stops. The company is opposite the subway station."

Gracelyn said while clearing the table.

Jovanny packed up his things and put them all in his briefcase. "Let's go."

They went out together and waited for the bus at the bus stop.

She and Jovanny were not supposed to take the same bus. Jovanny's bus came first. She urged, "Get on the bus now, or you won't be able to get on it later."

Jovanny glanced at the crowded people on the bus. He frowned and said, "I'll wait for the next bus."

"There will be more people later. You can still manage to get on it!" Gracelyn was so anxious that she started pushing Jovanny. "Don't dawdle. Hurry up!"

Jovanny stood still on the spot. Gracelyn couldn't make him move at all. After such a delay, the bus had left.

Gracelyn looked at the bus going away and sighed helplessly.

"You can only wait for the next bus, which takes twenty minutes. I hope you can make it."

Gracelyn glanced at his sullen face and found it a little funny. She didn't dare to laugh. After all, it was her cousin who caused Jovanny's car to be towed away.

Soon Gracelyn's bus came. "My bus comes. You wait here. Goodbye!"

Holding her bag, Gracelyn performed the trick to get on the crowded bus. She was like a fish in the water among the people and got on the bus with ease.

But the bus was full of people. Gracelyn could only stand at the door.

Gracelyn smiled and waved goodbye to Jovanny. The bus door was slowly closed. The morning sun fell on the glass, reflecting her bright smile behind it.

Jovanny stared at the glass. He was in a daze for a moment.

It was the first time he saw someone so happy to catch the early morning bus.

However, seeing a girl standing in the middle of the crowd, Jovanny frowned again.

A few minutes later, a Maybach appeared at the bus stop. Howard got out of the car. "Mr. Latimer, why are you waiting here?"

Jovanny tilted his head and glanced at Howard. He opened the car door and sat in.

Howard scratched his head. He returned to the car and began driving.

When Gracelyn came to the company, Patrick didn't show up. People in the company didn't bring him up.

She didn't know what Randy told Patrick. Patrick and his mother didn't come to trouble her these two days.

Gracelyn enjoyed the peaceful working days. Except for a small number of people, everything about the company was still the same as before. People would greet each other when they met.

Marina rested her chin, looking absent-minded.

Gracelyn poked her arm. "Marina, what are you doing? This is the sales department's future purchase list. Go to deal with it."

Marina came back to her senses. She sighed worriedly, "I'm thinking about that client. I feel broken for losing my love."

"Finish your work before thinking about your love."

Marina glanced at her. "Don't you have any sympathy? I lost my love! I'm very sad, okay?"

Gracelyn didn't know what to say. Marina only met that guy once in total. She didn't even know his name. What kind of lovelorn was this?

Gracelyn wanted to say something else. Suddenly, a short-haired woman called Allyson Juarez came over and put some documents in front of her, "Gracelyn, did you miscalculate my attendance last month?"

Gracelyn picked up the sheets and looked at them. She returned to her seat and turned on the computer. "Wait a minute. I'll check the system."

She quickly logged onto the system and checked Allyson's attendance. "Well, I didn't. Why do you think made a mistake?"

Allyson pointed to her watch, "Here. I asked for a two-hour leave on the 17th. Why did you count it as half a day for me?"

A two-hour leave wouldn't influence the full attendance, but a leave of half a day would. The company had a somewhat unique full attendance system. It was calculated based on salary, and the full attendance award was 10% of salary. The higher the salary, the higher the full attendance award.

Allyson was a business manager. Her average monthly salary was 10 thousand dollars, so her full attendance award was 1 thousand dollars. This wasn't a small amount of money.

Gracelyn explained to Allyson patiently, "You asked for a two-hour leave, but the system shows that your clock-in time was 2 p.m. Attendance is recorded based on the clock-in time."

"I forgot to check in earlier." Allyson's expression was a little unnatural. She held Gracelyn's arm and said in a low voice, "I'll clock in again. Can you change the record for me? I'll treat you to dinner."

They often take advantage of the company rules by taking half a day off and just asking for a two-hour leave. Those with a higher salary enjoyed doing this more.

Sometimes, Gracelyn didn't want to offend other co-workers, so she would help them cover it up. But she couldn't afford to do it every time.

Gracelyn said helplessly, "Allyson, you did the same thing the month before last. Besides, I have calculated everyone's salary and handed the data over to the accountant. A change would be difficult to make. How can I tell the accountant?"

"Can't you just tell her there's miss? Please, Grace." Allyson tugged at her arm and tried to soften Gracelyn up.

Allyson meant to let Gracelyn bear this mistake and keep her full attendance.
