My Parents Are Kidnapped, and My Cop Brother Refuses to Help, Now He’s Losing His Mind in Regret

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

My brother was completely stunned by the slap. It took him a while to come back to his senses.

"Mom, what are you saying? I'm your biological son."

My mom's gaze pierced straight into Jason's heart.

"So what if you're biological? What were you doing at the critical moment? You were out sightseeing with your sister!"

"Do you know your father and I almost died!"

After saying this, my mom was so agitated she couldn't catch her breath.

I supported her and patted her back. It took a long time for her to calm down.

"We've given you a house, raised you for so many years, we don't expect anything in return."

"Chloe, you should have less contact with our Bay family from now on."

After saying this, my mom started crying first.

I knew this decision must have been considered thousands of times in her heart.

Jason looked helplessly at my dad, only to receive an angry glare.

"Dad! Chloe is the one you raised. How can this outsider who grew up elsewhere replace Chloe?"

Jason was too agitated and didn't realize he had insulted our parents by calling me a "bastard." It was too late to take it back.

My dad looked at him with disappointment.

"You've always been willful and selfish. We sent you to the police academy to temper you, thinking you would grow up, but you've only become more twisted!"

As soon as my dad spoke, Jason's whole body trembled.

His face was full of fear and regret.

He must not have imagined that the kidnapping was real in both lives.

Originally wanting to see me make a fool of myself, to see me scolded by our parents after being exposed, or arrested for filing a false police report.

It seemed as if that could make up for his hatred over Chloe's fall from the cliff.

Now everything was ruined, and Jason had lost his previous arrogant air.

Instead, he pretended to be pitiful and apologized to our parents.

"Mom, Dad, I was wrong. It was really unintentional. I just..."

My dad cut him off.

"You just wanted Emily to leave the Bay family so you and Chloe could be together legitimately!"

"You're the one most afraid of Emily stealing your status and love!"

Jason was completely stunned.

All his secrets had been exposed, leaving him feeling naked in front of everyone.

"Don't think I don't know about you and Chloe. Even if you're not blood-related, it's still morally corrupt!"

So Dad knew everything.

The affair between his son and adopted daughter would be a family scandal if it got out.

"Chloe and I are in love. We're a match made in heaven!"

Jason was still arguing stubbornly.

Seeing my dad's anger continuing to rise,

I quickly went over to slow down his IV drip.

"Dad, calm down. The doctor said you shouldn't get too excited."

My dad patted the back of my hand.

His loving gaze fell on me, but his words were directed at Jason.

"The person you should apologize to most is Emily. You think I don't know about what happened eighteen years ago?"

My whole body felt like it had been frozen, startled by a thought that suddenly arose in my mind.

Jason also seemed terrified. His lips trembled slightly, and his breathing became rapid.

My dad sighed deeply, pulling me into his arms. My mom had already started sobbing quietly.

"Emily, you weren't a child your father and mother didn't want, nor did you get lost because you were naughty."

"Your brother deliberately took you out and lost you on purpose..."

My mom's sobs were heartbreaking.

"After we had you, your brother was always fighting for attention. He hated that we paid too much attention to you."

"It's all Dad and Mom's fault. We had something to do that day and could only let him take you out. We were negligent."

My face instantly turned pale.

The truth was like a bomb, exploding in the softest part of my chest.

Any guilt I had felt for Jason's remorse was now completely wiped away.

Jason lowered his head, then suddenly burst into laughter.

"So you all knew, haha! After all these years, it's finally been discovered."

"I just hated how she was always clinging to you. She was just a little brat who didn't understand anything."

"I just left her at a street corner and slipped away..."

My anger rose like a fierce beast.

I rushed to Jason in an instant, roaring at him.

"I didn't understand anything then! What right did you have to decide whether I stayed or left!"

Chloe firmly blocked me, still trying to defend him.

"He was just a kid too. Who would hold a child responsible for their mistakes? Don't be so dramatic."

Jason was already ten years old at that time. He wasn't ignorant; it was pure malice.

He didn't want one more person to share the love and attention.

When Chloe came, he was almost an adult.

My mom hugged me as I was about to break down.

"Sweetheart, it's all in the past. We'll never be separated from you again."

Seeing how upset I was, my dad's anger rose as well.

"These are established facts. Your mother and I have decided that after we pass away..."

"All the family assets will be inherited by Emily alone."

"You and Chloe can go wherever you want, but don't come back to the Bay family!"
