Met The Illegal Heir
Met The Illegal Heir
"Matthew Carter..." muttered Beatrice to herself.
"Yes?"
She waved her hand, "nothing! I just remember someone mentioned the same name before!"
"So, you're here for vacation?" asked him, turning his head to Beatrice who walked beside her casually.
"Yup! You?"
"Business trip! So you must be American?"
"Yeah, Nashville, but I worked in LA most of the time," answered Beatrice lightly. "What about you?" she asked, opening the restaurant door.
"American, guess where?"
She stopped, examining Matthew Carter from head to toe, "Um, Boston? New York?" guessed her.
"Yup New York! You're excellent at judging people! Wow, all tables are full!" he said, looking around the hectic restaurant.
"My partner has reserved the table for us, you may join us if you want to," said Beatrice, she turned to the host and mentioned her name to her.
"Are you sure he's going to be fine with my presence?" he asked hesitantly.
Beatrice shrugged, "I don't know, but I think he'll be okay, let's go!" she walked in, following the host who walked in front of her.
"So, partner?" asked Matthew while pulling the chair and letting Beatrice sit on it.
"Yeah, um, my fiance!" she answered without looking at him, she didn't want him to read her face.
Matthew nodded his head, "So you sold!"
"Yeah kind of! Hey!" she waved her hand because she saw Luke come from the outside. Matthew couldn't see him because he was facing the other way.
"Luke this is..." before Beatrice could finish her sentence Luke interrupted her.
"Let's get out of here!" he gripped her hand and forced her to stand up.
"What the fuck is going on!" snapped Beatrice in annoyance, she took a glance at her wrist and grimaced in pain.
Suddenly she realized something, she looked at both of them in turn and became very surprised.
"Is he your..."
"Let go of her hand, you hurt her, I'll leave!" Matthew stood up cutting Beatrice's words.
"Are you following me here?" hissed Luke coldly.
Matthew snorted, "Sorry Luke, but I have more important stuff to do than following your random agenda," he answered casually.
"That's good, I don't want to see you around my fiance ever again! Let's get out of here!" he pulled Beatrice who was still trying to digest everything.
"Is that Matthew your half-brother?" asked Beatrice when they were outside the restaurant.
"Did you tell him about our contract marriage?"
"Are you insane?! Of course not! Why would I, he's a stranger!" whispered Beatrice, shaking her head in disbelief.
"Let's find another restaurant!" he took her hand and they walked hand in hand leaving Matthew who was staring at them from afar.
After that unexpected accident in Dinner By Heston Blumenthal, they went back to the hotel to get some rest. They were both fell asleep and promise to wake up at 7.00 p.m.
"Bea! Wake up!" shouted Luke right in Beatrice's ear.
"What?! I'm so sleepy!"
"Do wanna go to the festival or not?!"
Beatrice's eyes suddenly widened, "The festival! Yes yes yes! I'll dress up! Wait!" she ran to the bathroom excitedly. She has been dreaming to go to the winter wonderland in London ever since she was a teenager.
Minutes later they were ready to go, Beatrice looked pretty in the new coat that Luke just bought for her that day. She tied her hair into a messy bun and put a scarf around her neck. "Let's go!" said Luke walking casually beside her. Their hotel was just several feet away from Hyde Park.
Beatrice's face turned happy when she stepped her feet into Hyde Park where there were so many people gathered in there.
"I love this, this is beautiful!" she muttered to herself.
"Yeah, beautiful," said Luke, his eyes on her...
